  • Patent number: 4620801
Abstract: A universal single roller bracket is disclosed for use with sliding drawers in cabinets, bureaus, chests and the like. The universal single roller bracket is self-positioning and has no right or left-handed characteristics. It includes a unitary bracket, formed either of a high impact strength plastic material or of metal. A pair of flat mounting flanges, formed integral with the bracket, extend at an angle in respective divergent planes from an apex and define an axis adjacent the apex. A pair of parallel spaced roller supports, also formed integral with the bracket, extend from the apex in planes normal to the axis and connecting with the mounting flanges. A roller, formed of a high impact strength plastic material, is supported within the roller supports for rotation about the axis. The roller can be provided with a flanged shoulder to serve as a side guide for the drawers. In the alternative, one of the pair of roller supports can be formed with shoulders for serving as the side guide.

  • Patent number: 4427246
Abstract: A roller guide is disclosed for use in providing a roller support and guide for a drawer. The guide is comprised of a rail mountable to the cabinet frame under the drawer parallel to the path thereof. The rail is in the form of a U-shaped channel piece with outwardly extending flanges. The guide also includes a bracket mountable to the rear lower portion of the drawer and carrying a roller which rides in the channel of the rail. The bracket is formed with a pair of re-entrant slots which engage the flanges to provide a positive locking, sliding connection between the drawer and the rail.

  • Patent number: 4424728
Abstract: A handle is provided for use with an Allen wrench by means of which leverage and grip on the wrench is improved and protection is provided in the event that the wrench should break during use. The handle is comprised of an elongated shank portion having an axial passage therein to receive the long end of the wrench. A head is provided at the end of the shank portion and formed with a recess perpendicular to and open to the shank passage to receive the short end of the wrench. A spring-loaded pivoted finger providing a toggle action is mounted in the head to hold the end of the wrench within the handle during operation thereof.

  • Patent number: 4288137
Abstract: A drawer slide system is provided in which cooperating rollers and tracks are mounted to the sides of the drawer and to the frame of the cabinet in which the drawer is mounted. The drawer mounted component comprises a track having an L-shaped cross-section mountable flush against the side of the drawer with the upper edge thereof even with the upper edge of the drawer. A roller is mounted near the rear end of the track and an arcuate indent is formed near the forward end thereof. The cabinet-mounted component includes a rail of U-shaped cross-section the end of which is mounted by means of a bracket to the rear wall of the cabinet and the forward end is formed with a depending flange on which is mounted a roller. The roller on the drawer component rides in the U-shaped rail while the roller on the cabinet component supports the drawer rail. The drawer rail is contoured to maintain clearance between the cabinet roller and the drawer.

  • Patent number: 4095853
Abstract: A resilient roller guide assembly is provided for use with sliding drawers in cabinets, bureaus, chests and the like. The assembly includes an angle bracket having a pair of mutually perpendicular legs on each of which is mounted a roller rotatable about an axis parallel to the leg length and extending from one face of the leg. From the opposite face of the leg, at the inner edge thereof, is a lip adapted to seat against the edge of the opening in the cabinet through which the drawer moves. The rollers are of a diameter sufficient to engage and support the drawer at its bottom and along both sides when a unit is mounted at each lower corner of the drawer opening.

  • Patent number: 4011632
Abstract: A protective corner shield for use with strap-bound stacks of cartons or the like is provided to prevent a highly tensioned strap from damaging the corners of the stack. The shield is formed with two flat legs substantially perpendicular to one another having parallel spaced ribs on their outer surfaces defining a shallow channel to receive and position the strap. One of the legs is formed on its inner face with a lip extending in spaced parallel relation to the other leg by a distance corresponding to the thickness of one of the stacked cartons. The lip when slipped between two cartons in the stack serves to hold the corner shield in position before, during and after the installation of the strap.

  • Patent number: 3979796
Abstract: A clip is provided for mounting panels such as false drawer fronts to cabinets. The clip is a one-piece device formed with a flat flange base attached to the rear face of the panel and includes a plurality of resilient prongs of different lengths extending perpendicularly from the base. Each prong includes a shoulder adapted to hook over the cabinet stile, and the shoulders, being at different distances from the base, permit one clip to be used for stile stock of various thicknesses and yet maintain tight locking engagement of the panel. The end of each clip is formed with an inclined cam leading edge by which the prong may be deflected while the panel is being installed.

  • Patent number: 3980365
Abstract: A drawer of the sort used in cabinets, desks, files and the like is supported for sliding movement by a single self-aligning center rail. The rail is mounted to the cabinet frame preferably above the drawer, extending from front to back. It is supported at its forward end by a bracket in fixed position and at the rear end by a cup-shaped receptacle allowing limited lateral movement of the rail end. A bifurcated drawer guide is attached at its lower end to the back wall of the drawer and at its upper end slidably engages the rail. The rail is tubular for the major portion thereof while the forward end is flattened to provide a partial stop action for the drawer and also provide means for the drawer to be fully removed. Low friction guide plates are mounted about the drawer opening for quiet, easy movement thereof.
