  • Publication number: 20040098958
Abstract: A separator for a wet vacuum cleaner has a bottom and a sidewall connected to the bottom. The sidewall has lamellas delimiting slots, wherein through the slots an air/gas flow enters an interior of the separator, delimited by the bottom and the sidewall, wherein the air/gas flow contains dirt/dust particles and/or water droplets. The lamellas each have at least one radial outer widened section, extending in a rotational direction of the separator, and at least one remaining lamella section, wherein the at least one radial outer widened section and the at least one remaining lamella section delimit together a turbulence chamber, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20030159580
Abstract: A separator for a wet vacuum device has a bottom and a sidewall connected to the bottom. The sidewall has stays defining slots between the stays. An air/gas stream, containing particles to be separated from the air/gas stream, enters the separator through the slots near the bottom, and the particles are separated from the air/gas stream by centrifugal force and are expelled from the separator at a spacing from the bottom through the slots. Between 3 and 45 slots are distributed about the circumference of the sidewall. The slots have a slot depth and a slot width, wherein the slot depth is substantially 0.2 up to 2.5 times as large as the slot width. The rotating separator is arranged above the liquid bath such that it agitates the surface of the liquid bath.

  • Publication number: 20030059603
Abstract: Pyrogenic, oxidic particles contain superparamagnetic metal oxide domains with a diameter of 3 to 20 nm in a non-magnetic metal or non-metal oxide matrix. The particles display a chloride content of 50 to 1000 ppm. The particles are produced by pyrogenic processes by mixing the precursor of the superparamagnetic domains and the precursor of the non-magnetic metal or non-metal oxide matrix in a flame with air and/or oxygen and fuel gas and reacting this mixture in a flame. The particles can be used as ferro fluids, for example.

  • Patent number: 5245172
Abstract: An apparatus for focusing an image onto an image receptor is disclosed. The apparatus includes a stationary lens, a rotatable frame that is rigidly connected to the image receptor, and a base. The base is pivotally connected to the rotatable frame about a rotational axis. The image is focused by the stationary lens onto the image receptor by pivoting the rotatable frame about the rotational axis. In an alternate embodiment, an apparatus for focusing an image onto an image receptor includes a stationary lens, a voice coil actuator, a servo loop for driving the voice coil actuator, and an electromechanical transducer for measuring the position of the image receptor. The electromechanical transducer is electrically connected to the servo loop. Connecting means for rigidly connecting the image receptor to the voice coil actuator are also provided. The image is focused by the stationary lens onto the image receptor by driving the voice coil actuator.

  • Patent number: 4858335
Abstract: A process for regenerating a moisture charged drying cartridge and apparatus for carrying out the process. Drying cartridges are used to prepare drying air for drying synthetic plastics in the form of granulates or powders. Used drying air, which has become charged with moisture, is passed through a drying cartridge which takes up the moisture from the drying air. The dried drying air can then be passed again through the material to be dried. In regenerating a spent, moisute laden drying cartridge, external air is collected, heated and exhausted after passage through the cartridge, which subsequently must be cooled. In order to achieve the lowest possible dew point after regeneration of a cartridge to be dried with a minimum consumption of energy, the regeneration air is passed in a closed regeneration circuit (11) through the cartridge (9').

  • Patent number: 4622003
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing active material. The apparatus oscillating burner, a tank for the active material which is connected to a discharge line, and a fuel reservoir which, via a suction line, feeds the oscillating burner, which operates with pulsating combustion and comprises an oscillating tube. If the pressure drops in the oscillating burner, it is possible to introduce additional fuel thereinto with the aid of a control device as a function of the pulsation pressure of the oscillating burner. The control device causes extra fuel to be supplied to ensure that the resonance range, which has originally been set to no-load, is restored, any pressure loss caused by the feeding of active material being compensated for so as not to affect the resonance behavior of the apparatus, and consequently the quality of the dispensed active material.

  • Patent number: 4080857
Abstract: A driven disk having a units of length scale about the circumference is mounted on an axis parallel with the axis of a freely rotatable pressure roller mounted on a spring biased lever which in one position urges the pressure roller toward the disk such that strand material can be engaged by cooperating circumferential grooves in the disk and roller and advanced on rotation of the disk. A guide for the strand material, tangential to the disk, is disposed on opposite sides of the pressure roller with the output end forming a counterblade for a cut-off blade on the end of the lever which also has a cam surface which cooperates with a roller on the underside of the disk for moving the lever and pressure roller away from the disk and the cut-off blade to the strand material cut-off position.
