  • Patent number: 5004232
Abstract: A plug-in game cartridge, having a read-only-memory (ROM) that stores software of the game, also includes a security circuit that generates a signal which causes a host videographics console unit to accept it as authorized. The security circuit produces a replica of a reset signal that exists in the console unit and uses that replica to control the timing of pulses that form the authorizing signal. The cartridge with the security circuit can be used with a Nintendo brand videographics unit.
