  • Patent number: 6978678
Abstract: The invention relates to a pressure sensor comprising a sensor element (2) having a flat membrane (4) which is transformed at its edge into a hollow-cylindrical ring (6) so that a central recess (20) is provided at the lower side (10) of the membrane (4). On the upper side (8) of the membrane (4) a resistance arrangement consisting of electric resistors is disposed. A sleeve (54) projects into the recess (20) and supports a first elastomeric sealing ring (66) which is tightly arranged at the circumferential area of the recess (20). Furthermore the sleeve (54) supports a second elastomeric sealing ring (68) which serves for sealing at a feeding tube for pressure fluid formed in a component part to which the pressure sensor is mountable. The sleeve (54) is rigidly connected to a disk (56) which is attached with its outer edge (58) to a casing (26) enclosing the sensor element (2).

  • Patent number: 6697024
Abstract: An exterior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a reflective element subassembly which includes a reflective element mounted to a backing plate and/or bezel which extends at least partially around the back surface of the reflective element. An antenna is wound or otherwise positioned around at least a portion of a perimeter or outer portion of the reflective element subassembly. The antenna may be functional to transmit or receive signals for a corresponding signal device of the vehicle, such as a radio, a passive entry system, a cellular telephone system, and/or the like. The antenna and/or a connector for connecting the antenna to a corresponding connector at the mirror assembly or vehicle or door of vehicle may be integrally molded with the backing plate or bezel to further protect the antenna and improve the assembly processes of the mirror assembly.

  • Patent number: 6616313
Abstract: A lighting device for attachment to a motor vehicle inside a housing 4. One or more light emitting diodes 9 which emit substantially white light are employed as lighting emitters. On account of the small amount of waste heat of the light-emitting diodes 9 the lighting device can be particularly easily integrated into existing subassemblies of the motor vehicle, in particular into the outside mirrors, inside mirror, trim strips and door handles, and can serve to illuminate the region around the vehicle or the interior of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6568414
Abstract: An arrangement for cleaning the mirror element of an outside rear view mirror is disclosed. The arrangement includes a washing nozzle, which is disposed in the region of the outside rear view mirror on a motor vehicle and from which a jet of a cleaning liquid may be discharged. The position of the mirror element (1) relative to the body of the motor vehicle is variable, whereas the washing nozzle (9) is connected in a fixed manner to the body. To improve the cleaning action of the washing to nozzle (9), the mirror element (2) may be adjusted between a normal position, in which the driver may observe the traffic behind him in the mirror element (2), and a cleaning position, in which an advantageous angle for cleaning, in particular a steep angle arises between the mirror plane of the mirror element (2) and the jet of cleaning liquid.

  • Patent number: 6382806
Abstract: An outside rear view mirror for a motor vehicle is provided having an adjustably supported glass subassembly and an electric adjusting mechanism for remote-controlled adjustment of the glass subassembly. The position of the glass subassembly, in particular the angular position, is determinable by means of at least one sensor. In order to enable contactless and wear-free acquisition of the position of the glass subassembly, the sensor is designed in the manner of a magnetic sensor, which cooperates in such a way with a magnetic element provided in the outside rear view mirror that the magnetic sensor or the magnetic element participates in the adjusting motion of the glass subassembly. The magnetic sensor in dependence upon the position of the magnetic element supplies a variable output signal, from which in an evaluation unit the position of the glass subassembly is derivable.

  • Patent number: 6247823
Abstract: An outside rear view mirror for a motor vehicle includes a mirror element, a housing and a mirror foot fastenable to the motor vehicle. At least one electrical function element, in particular a contacting element, is provided in the outside rear view mirror. In order in a simple manner to protect the function element (9, 19, 20, 29, 30, 31) from moisture and dirt, there is provided in the outside rear view mirror (1) a sealable chamber (5), in which the electrical function element (9, 19, 20, 29, 30, 31) may be disposed.
