  • Publication number: 20050167350
Abstract: The present invention provides a filter assembly containing a filter element and a container as a depot for a liquid additive. The container can include an inlet and an outlet, which are configured to allow a liquid to flow into the container mix with the contained additive and then flow out into the system. It has been observed that a liquid flowing through a filter assembly exhibits a pressure gradient within the filter. Consequently, the inlets and outlets to the container can be positioned to take advantage of the pressure gradient to enhance the addition of the additive to the liquid in the filter assembly.

  • Patent number: 6532609
Abstract: A physiotherapy bench includes a frame supported by legs in an elevated, use position, and an arcuate body supporting panel on the frame. The supporting panel includes a substantially horizontal front end for supporting the chest of a patient, and an inclined rear end for supporting the hips and the upper portion of the legs of a patient, whereby the spine is subjected to gentle traction. A headrest is resiliently connected to the front end of the frame for floating support of the head of a patient.

  • Patent number: 4055877
Abstract: In the manufacture of cathode ray tubes, the neck of the tube consisting of a lead-containing glass is closed by a glass base plate having sealed therein a number of contact pins on which an electrode system for generating at least two electron beams is mounted. The periphery of the base plate is sealed to the wall of the neck of the tube by local heating, the base plate being supported by a supporting member having guide holes and reference holes cooperating with the contact pins to determine the centering and the rotational position of the electrode system relative to a reference system of axes. In order to prevent (or inhibit) the lead released from the lead-containing glass during sealing from penetrating into the reference holes, said reference holes are substantially spaced from the base plate. This is realized in a simple manner by means of a supporting member in which each reference hole is coaxial with a guide hole and spaced from the surface of the member supporting the base plate.

  • Patent number: 3994708
Abstract: Method of producing a glass which is transmissive to ultraviolet radiation, comprising the steps of:Providing a glass batch mixture consisting of, in per cent by weight:______________________________________ SiO.sub.2 61 - 70 CaO 0 - 6 B.sub.2 O.sub.3 0.5 - 3.5 BaO 4 - 15 Na.sub.2 O 8 - 10 MgO 0 - 5 K.sub.2 O 9 - 12 Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 1 - 5 ______________________________________together with iron impurities;Melting said glass batch mixture; andAdding to said mixture a refining agent which consists of a sulfate to which an organic reducing agent selected from the group consisting of sugar, carbon, sawdust, and charcoal has been added for maintaining the iron impurities in divalent form, and reducing the number of gas occlusions, the resulting seed-free glass having a tranmissivity of 65% per mm thickness to radiation in the range around 253.7nm.
