  • Patent number: 7086420
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multilayered elastomer hose comprising at least an inner layer, an outer layer and a reinforcement layer. To enhance the loadability of conventional elastomer hoses while maintaining the typical flexible structure, it is intended according to the invention that the reinforcement layer comprises a sulfur-containing polymer material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 25, 2005
Date of Patent: August 8, 2006
    Assignee: Veritas AG
    Inventors: Peter Kahn, Martin Bruck
  • Publication number: 20060154281
Abstract: The invention describes novel reaction chambers that include a case with at least one opening and a flat bottom flange attached to the first side of a substrate with at least one microarray of materials attached thereto. The case and the substrate are attached through an adhesive layer with at least one perforations such that the at least one microarrays, the at least one perforations and the at least one openings are aligned and forms at least one individual reaction chambers. Methods of using such chambers are disclosed. Also provided are kits including the novel chambers.

  • Publication number: 20060060634
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for shaping pipes with the steps connecting a pipe end with a coupling of a connection device for pipes, in particular a quick connector, through friction welding and controlling the region of formation of the molten mass formed during friction welding. The contamination of the inside of the pipe due to welding beads can be prevented with the aid of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20040137605
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatus for performing biological reactions on a substrate surface that use a low volume of sample fluid, accommodate substrates as large as or larger than a conventional microscope slide, accommodate a plurality of independent reactions, and accommodate a substrate surface having one or more hydrogel-based microarrays attached thereto. The invention further provides an apparatus that allows introduction of fluids in addition to sample fluid into each reaction chamber via standard pipet tips and associated pipettor apparatus. The invention further an apparatus that increases reaction reproducibility, increases reaction efficiency, and reduces reaction duration.

  • Publication number: 20040043479
Abstract: The invention relates generally to methods and apparatus for conducting analyses, particularly microfluidic devices. In preferred aspects, the devices are fabricated using ceramic multilayer technology to form devices in which parallel, independently controlled molecular reactions, such as nucleic acid amplification reactions including the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) can be performed. Additionally, the devices can include and comprise micro-gas chromatographs similarly fabricated from ceramics.

  • Patent number: 5175772
Abstract: A test (100) for a receiver (200) having a display (220) that is controlled to produce a plurality of display patterns 3A-3E. The plurality of display patterns 3A-3E are measured and the measured display patterns 3F are compared with a reference value to determine the integrity of the display patterns 3A-3E.
