  • Patent number: 5149182
Abstract: An improved optical filter for use in an optical measurement instrument has a corrective optical glass filter with a negative deviation in the range of 470 nm added to the optical filter to offset a positive deviation in the range of 470 nm in an amber or blue glass filter used in the optical filter. The improved optical filter in interposed between a photoelectric element in the optical measurement instrument and the source of electromagnetic radiation. The photoelectric device converts the electromagnetic radiation to an electrical signal which is processed and displayed. In one embodiment of the invention the optical filter has a spectral response matching that of the average human eye and in a further embodiment the optical filter has an approximate equal response over a spectral range from ultraviolet to infrared.

  • Patent number: 4873621
Abstract: The method of regulation employs a simulation process for at least one state variable of an apparatus to be controlled and regulates the state variable. In the process, a curve of an operating characteristic having its base at an idle state value is traversed up to an operating state value. When re-regulating, the regulation process begins at the current value of the state variable. The value of the regulation variable corresponds to the idle state. This has the advantage of a defined initial point for re-regulation. A regulating device for performing the method of regulation comprises a series circuit containing an input circuit, a regulation circuit with a simulation device for regulating an apparatus as well as a control circuit for possible machines coupled to the apparatus. The simulation device is adjustable according to operating characteristics or apparatus parameters. Another regulating device fulfills the same function while employing a computer and correspondingly modified circuits.

  • Patent number: 4565224
Abstract: The weft thread monitoring apparatus contains a detecting circuit incorporating the functions of a thread recognition circuit and a control circuit for controlling the intensity of a thread sensing or scanning beam which is affected by extraneous effects like outside light, the presence of fluff and other influences. A monitoring and controlling circuit defines monitoring and control intervals to differentiate between thread signals which are respectively correctly and incorrectly related to the operating cycle of the weaving machine and to possibly cut off the weaving machine. A sensing head can be simply mounted and dismantled at any desired location at the reed of the weaving machine so that different widths of the woven material or fabric can be manufactured using the same reed and the weft thread can be monitored. By periodic indication of the thread signal the correct run or operation of the weaving machine also can be monitored.
