  • Patent number: 6126927
Abstract: A method of making an antiperspirant powder is provided, including mixing a silicone rubber powder solution with an antiperspirant salt in a liquid carrier to form a uniform liquid mixture; and drying the liquid mixture to form an antiperspirant powder.

  • Patent number: 5925338
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a clear antiperspirant or deodorant gel composition which exhibits reduced staining while retaining excellent aethetic attributes and efficacy. The gel composition is a water-in-oil emulsion having a viscosity of about 50,000 to 250,000 cP, preferably about 100,000 to 200,000 cP. The water phase comprises about 75 to 90% of the composition and contains a deodorant or antiperspirant effective amount (e.g. about 3 to 25%) of an antiperspirant active dissolved therein. The oil phase comprises about 10 to 25% of the composition and contains a silicone oil and a polyether substituted silicone emulsifying agent. The silicone oil comprises a mixture of a non-volatile silicone, preferably a non-volatile linear silicone, and a volatile linear silicone. It has been found that reducing the amount of non-volatile silicone in the known gel composition to a relatively low level (e.g. below about 5%) and adding an amount of volatile linear silicone to the composition (e.g.

  • Patent number: 5863525
Abstract: A clear gel-type cosmetic product has a viscosity of at least about 50,000 cps at 21.degree. C., and includes an emulsion with an oil phase and a water phase that includes an incorporated active ingredient. The refractive indices of the water and oil phases match to at least 0.0004, the refractive index of the product is about 1.4000, and the product clarity is better than thirty NTU.

  • Patent number: 4749569
Abstract: A stable extrudable antiperspirant paste composition exhibiting high antiperspirant efficacy in which finely divided solid astringent antiperspirant is dispersed in a limited class of volatile silicone liquid vehicles and stabilized against syneresis by a combination of finely divided silica and a quaternized three-layer clay exfoliated with a polar solvent.
