  • Publication number: 20230285130
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a controller (100) for generating a control signal for an oral care system (200), wherein the controller (100) is configured for receiving orientation data generated by the oral care system (200), wherein the orientation data describes at least one angle (102) between the oral care system (200) and a target tissue surface (300) in an oral cavity (400) or the angle relative to a reference vector, for instance the gravity vector, wherein the controller (100) is configured for comparing the received orientation data with at least one pre-defined orientation condition, and wherein the controller (100) is configured for generating a first control signal to trigger or adapt an oral care procedure performed by the oral care system (200) if the received orientation data fulfills the pre-defined orientation condition.

  • Publication number: 20220192805
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fluid based tooth cleaning system (10) comprising a holdable body (20), a fluid delivery unit (30), at least one sensor (40) and a control unit (50). The holdable body is configured to be coupled to a head (60). The fluid delivery unit (30) is configured to be coupled to a nozzle (80) configured to emit fluid, and the nozzle (80) is comprised within the head (60). The at least one sensor (40) is configured to provide information, including velocity information, relating to the head (60) with respect to a user's teeth. The at least one sensor (40) is configured to provide the information to the control unit (50). The control unit (50) is configured utilize the information to enable the fluid delivery unit (30) to emit fluid from the nozzle (80) onto the user's teeth.

  • Patent number: 10188203
Abstract: An oral cleaning system provides motivating feedback to a user before brushing and includes: a power toothbrush (10); one or more sensors (26) on or within the toothbrush; a processor (30) within the toothbrush configured to process sensor information obtained from the one or more sensors during a first brushing session of a user; and a feedback system (40) on or within the toothbrush responsive to the processor and configured to communicate brushing information to the user at a time subsequent to the first brushing session but before a second brushing session of the user.

  • Publication number: 20160338635
Abstract: A proximal body portion (210) of a detection apparatus for detecting the presence of a substance on a surface includes pump portion (124, 142) and a proximal probe portion (111, 120) in fluid communication with one another. A controller (225) processes signal readings sensed by the parameter sensor (P, P1 or P2) and determines whether the signal readings are indicative of a substance (116) obstructing the passage of fluid (130) through the open port of the distal tip (112, 112?) of a distal probe portion (110) of the detection apparatus (100, 100?, 100?, 100?a, 100?b, 100?c, 100?d, 100c). The controller (225) transmits a signal that changes dynamic pressure at the distal tip (112, 112?) upon determining that the signal readings are indicative of a substance (116) obstructing the passage of fluid (130) through the open port of the distal tip (112, 112?).
