  • Patent number: 9195653
Abstract: Applications can be localized by localization experts to allow them to be used by a broader customer base. The localization can be done given interface context to produce more applicable results. A localization expert may determine that certain content within the interface context should be localized, however is not localizable by the expert. The localization expert may indicate that the content is localizable and the developer may receive the indication and provide the localization expert with updated interface context allowing localization of the previously un-localizable content.

  • Publication number: 20150161160
Abstract: An application is localized by providing an editable, WYSIWYG localization interface to a localization expert. The localization interface is based upon context information extracted from the application interface being localized. The localization can be made more accurately and effectively because the localization expert can see the surrounding context and understand how and when the localized element will be presented to users.

  • Patent number: 8954314
Abstract: Disclosed is subject matter that provides a technique and a device that may include an accelerometer, a display device, an input device and a processor. The input device may receive textual information in a first language. The processor may be configured to generate a plurality of probable translation alternatives for a translation result. Each probable translation alternative may be a translation of the textual information into a second language. The processor may present a first of the plurality of probable translation alternatives on the display device in an alternate translation result dialog screen. Based on an accelerometer signal, the processor may determine whether the device is being shaken. In response to a determination the device is being shaken, the processor may present a second of the plurality of probable translation alternatives on the display device in place of the first of the plurality of probable translation alternatives.

  • Patent number: 8942971
Abstract: Applications can be localized by localization experts to allow them to be used by a broader customer base. The localization can be done given resource files containing localization resources. A localization resource may contain a programming component and non-programming component. The non-programming component can be sent to a machine localizer. The machine localizer may provide a plurality of localizations corresponding to a plurality of languages based on the non-programming component of the localization resource. A plurality of localized applications can be complied based on the localized non-programming components and the original programming component.

  • Patent number: 8875036
Abstract: Applications can be localized by localization experts to allow them to be used by a broader customer base. The localization can be done given interface context to produce more applicable results. Multiple localization experts may be given an editable interface of the application and may provide multiple localizations based on the editable interface of the application. Multiple evaluators may evaluate the localizations provided by the multiple localization experts. Multiple developers may extract localization data and the localization data may be incorporated into the application and may result in a localized application.

  • Patent number: 8452814
Abstract: Applications can be localized by localization experts to allow them to be used by a broader customer base. The localization can be done given interface context to produce more applicable results. Context information showing the actions captured as the application is in use can be given to a localization expert by providing the localization expert multiple snapshots of the application in use. The multiple snapshots can convey more information than other forms of context information as they can show use over time. A localization edit based on the multiple snapshots can be used to localize an application.
