  • Patent number: 10834659
Abstract: A method for determining a route from a mesh network to an external network includes identifying route segments from a user equipment (UE) to the external network. The route segments comprise at least a first route segment from the UE to a first mesh access point (AP), a second route segment from the first mesh AP to the external network through a wide area cellular wireless network (WACWN), and a third route segment from the first mesh AP to the external network through an alternative network. The method further includes determining respective bandwidth of at least the first, second and third route segments and selecting the route based on the bandwidth of the first, second and third route segments, wherein the route comprises at least two of the route segments. The method also includes routing data between the UE and the external network via the selected route.

  • Patent number: 8612386
Abstract: A distributed database synchronization capability is provided herein. The distributed database synchronization capability may be implemented using one or more of a timer-based scheme and a token-based scheme. The distributed database synchronization capability enables synchronization of databases of nodes in various types of networks, including dynamic networks (e.g., such as rapidly deployable wireless networks) and various other types of networks. The synchronization of databases may include synchronization of databases as a whole and/or portions of databases (which may include any suitable database table or tables). The distributed database synchronization capability enables synchronization of databases of nodes under various dynamic conditions (e.g., synchronization of databases of nodes within a cluster of nodes, synchronization of databases of nodes between clusters of nodes, synchronization of databases of nodes by administrative domain, and the like).

  • Patent number: 8516474
Abstract: A method for distributing an upgrade among a plurality of nodes communicatingly linked in a network includes: (a) introducing an upgrade element to a first node of the plurality of nodes; the upgrade element being appropriate for use by the first node for effecting the upgrade; (b) communicating the upgrade element from the first node to at least one other node of the plurality of nodes than the first node for use by the at least one other node for effecting the upgrade; (c) communicating the upgrade element from the at least one other node to at least one selected remaining node of the plurality of nodes not having received the upgrade element; and (d) repeating step (c) until the upgrade element is communicated to the plurality of nodes.

  • Patent number: 7225238
Abstract: A method and system for providing services for wireless data calls includes monitoring a wireless data call for a predefined event associated with a service for the wireless data call. The service is initiated for the wireless data call in response to detecting the predefined event for the data call. The predefined event may comprise a uniform resource locator (URL) match or change, excess use of transmission or time resources, a location change of a mobile device for the wireless data call, a network event, or a combination of any or all suitable events.
