  • Patent number: 9179007
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for providing a continuous feedback system that dynamically updates data collection criteria and subscriber policies based on aggregated subscriber-specific and network usage data. For example, a method includes applying one or more subscriber specific policy and charging control (PCC) rules to network traffic to collect network traffic data for a plurality of subscribers, aggregating the network traffic data, and determining, based on the aggregated traffic data, whether subscriber independent data collection criteria need to be updated.

  • Patent number: 9177525
Abstract: A method of configuring an image for data storage on a storage device in an overlapping-tiled format and a method of displaying a desired image selected for viewing on a display are disclosed. The method of configuring an image for data storage includes formatting an image to include a plurality of image tiles, each image tile in the plurality of image tiles having at least a portion that is substantially identical to at least a portion of an adjacent image tile in the plurality of image tiles. The method further includes converting data of the image from data in a first color space into data in a second color space so as to reduce a size of the data of the image, and storing the image data in the second color space.

  • Patent number: 9177208
Abstract: A volume identification system identifies a set of unlabeled spatio-temporal volumes within each of a set of videos, each volume representing a distinct object or action. The volume identification system further determines, for each of the videos, a set of volume-level features characterizing the volume as a whole. In one embodiment, the features are based on a codebook and describe the temporal and spatial relationships of different codebook entries of the volume. The volume identification system uses the volume-level features, in conjunction with existing labels assigned to the videos as a whole, to label with high confidence some subset of the identified volumes, e.g., by employing consistency learning or training and application of weak volume classifiers. The labeled volumes may be used for a number of applications, such as training strong volume classifiers, improving video search (including locating individual volumes), and creating composite videos based on identified volumes.

  • Publication number: 20150313022
Abstract: Transparent conductors and methods of forming same are provided. A transparent conductor can include a nanostructure layer and a low sheet resistance grid disposed on a transfer film surface having an acceptable level of surface roughness. The presence of the low sheet resistance grid lowers the sheet resistance of the transparent conductor to an acceptable level. • Publication number: 20150312595
Abstract: A perceptual filter may be implemented to filter one or more spatial frequencies from a video signal that are below a contrast sensitivity limit of a viewer of the video signal. The perceptual filter may be configured to adapt one or more perceptual filter parameters on a pixel-basis based on, for example, content, viewing distance, display density, contrast ratio, display luminance, background luminance, and/or age of the viewer. A spatial cutoff frequency of the perceptual filter may be mapped to a contrast sensitivity. The perceptual filter may be used as a preprocessing step for a video encoder so as to lower an encoded bitrate. Temporal filtering of the video frames may be used to maintain continuity of a spatial cutoff frequency to ensure the perceptual filtering effects are not identified as motion by a video encoder, and the temporal filtering may be restricted to static areas of a frame.

  • Patent number: 9171304
Abstract: The methods and systems described herein provide for processing payments at a retail location whose infrastructure has been significantly removed from PCI scope. A request for processing payments may be sent from a point of sale lane to a back office server in communication with a credit card terminal. A user may use the credit card terminal to enter in secure payment information which is securely transmitted to a remote authorization service for authorization. Through this method, the credit card terminal and sensitive payment information may be securely isolated from the remaining infrastructure at the retail location.

  • Patent number: 9172969
Abstract: According to some embodiments, an external memory unit stores rows of macroblocks representing an image. A set of macroblocks may be transferred from the external memory unit to a local buffer, the set of macroblocks including fewer macroblocks than a row. A macroblock may then be decoded based on information in the local buffer to generate an image signal.

  • Patent number: 9171331
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a commercial card packet form system that enables one or more users associated with a financial institution to input information associated with a customer to whom a commercial card (e.g., a purchase card, a travel card, a debit card, a credit card, a temporary card) is being issued. Each user may be granted or denied access to particular fields of information on the commercial card packet form depending on her or his role at the financial institution. The packet form may require reentry of information or user authentication to ensure accuracy of information. Pop-up warnings may alert the one or more users of potentially incomplete fields of information and instruct the one or more users to provide additional information. An audit trail may track updates to information and includes a timestamp and details associated with the user who made the updates.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for electronic delivery of regulated shareholder communications to registered electronic mail client accounts. A signed regulated shareholder communication electronic mail is generated by a proxy platform server computer and the electronic mail is transmitted to an electronic mail address inbox of a client computer. An active content associated with the shareholder communication is delivered by the proxy platform server computer when the shareholder communication is opened by a user on the client computer. The user is authenticated by the proxy platform server computer. A voting ballot is delivered by the platform server computer to the authenticated user's opened shareholder communication. The ballot votes submitted from the opened shareholder communication by the user are recorded in a proxy platform server computer voting database.

The perceptual filter may be configured to adapt one or more perceptual filter parameters on a pixel-basis based on, for example, content, viewing distance, display density, contrast ratio, display luminance, background luminance, and/or age of the viewer. Estimates of DC, amplitude, and contrast sensitivity of a video frame may be performed. A spatial cutoff frequency of the perceptual filter may be mapped to a contrast sensitivity. The perceptual filter may be used as a preprocessing step for a video encoder so as to lower an encoded bitrate.
