  • Patent number: 5238156
Abstract: In a metering and spray pump for liquid, low-viscosity and pasty substances, an elastic bellows 3 is arranged between two plastic housing parts 1, 2 that are telescopingly movable relative to one another, connecting them. The bellows, acting as a discharge valve 18, has, at one end, a valve annular wall 15 that surrounds the generated surface 17 of an inner annular discharge seat 8 made in one piece with the first housing part 1 in a sealing manner and such that it can be lifted off. As a suction valve 58, the bellows 3 has, at its other end, a valve annular wall 54 which is in sealing and separable contact with the generated surface 43 of a valve seat 42 made in one piece with the second housing part 2 such that it can be lifted off, and the medium to be pumped is drawn into the bellows 3 through the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 5205441
Abstract: Suction and/or discharge valves are provided in a metering and spray pump for liquid or low-viscosity, especially pasty substances, in which two housing parts, which are telescopingly movable relative to one another and are made of a dimensionally stable plastic, have a pump chamber, whose volume can be cyclically altered by a pump member. To provide a valve which can be used both as a suction valve and as a discharge valve and consists of the simplest possible functional parts that can easily be assembled and operate reliably even in the case of relatively wide dimensional tolerances, and which especially has a good quality of closing at low opening force, which can be tested even in the dry state, e.g.

  • Patent number: 5014881
Abstract: In order to create a metering and spray pump of high functional reliability, consisting of as few individual parts as possible and able to be produced with as low production costs, in particular assembly costs, as possible, in which the pumping member consists of an elastically-flexible bellows (4), which is arranged connectively between mutually movable, dimensionally stable housing parts (1,2), the bellows (4) has at its one end, as axial extension, a radially flexible, sleeve-like annular wall section (30), which encloses in sealing manner like a valve the circumferential surface (31) of a socket (24), in the form of a ring or pot, integrally molded onto the housing part (1) executing the pumping strokes.

  • Patent number: 4979646
Abstract: A paste dispenser includes a dispensing pump for dispensing metered amounts of pasty substances, such as toothpaste or the like, from bottle-like or can-like paste containers which have a bellows made of an elastic material. The bellows are arranged between two housing parts which are made of a dimensionally stable material, guided telescopically resiliently one with another, so as to establish communication between the housing parts. One of the housing parts is provided with a tubular discharge orifice which shapes a strand of paste, and communicates with an annular duct formed by two inner and outer sections which are formed on one of the housing parts and are concentric to one another and coaxial to a bellows axis intercommunicating the housing parts. The inner tube section is surrounded by a radially elastic annular wall member or portion of the bellows which forms a valve seat. The annular wall section joins a wall of the bellows in a sealing fashion between the outer and inner sections.

  • Patent number: 4886186
Abstract: A dispenser for the delivery of dosed quantities of a pasty substance comprises a receptacle having a push button mounted on the receptacle for movement upwardly and downwardly adjacent an end thereof. A rod extends through the receptacle and is connected at its inner end to a follower plunger. A substance flow tube has one end extending into the receptacle to the reservoir thereof for the pasty substance and an opposite end with a substance delivery orifice which extends out of the receptacle. A closing wall adjacent the tube closes the delivery orifice. The follower plunger is in sliding engagement with interior of the receptacle and it is movably engageable around the rod and is movable along the rod upon discharge of a substance through the delivery orifice. There is a connection between the plunger and at least one of the closing wall and the substance flow tube for shifting one end of the closing wall relative to the flow tube opening the delivery orifice for the delivery of the substance therethrough.

  • Patent number: 4863070
Abstract: A metering pump for discharging metered quantities of liquid and/or low viscosity materials, in particular pasty materials, on bottle-type or can-type containers has a bellows sealed between two coaxial housing parts of dimensionally stable plastic. The housing parts are telescopically movable relative to one another, and provided at each of its two ends with respective inlet and outlet pump valves. Each pump valve has an axially mobile closing element. On its discharge end, the bellows has an integrally molded annular valve seat face, provided with a passage orifice, for a spring-loaded closing element. A bellows seal includes an annular wall surface disposed against a pipe attachment which is integrally molded to a first housing part. The first housing part is provided with a discharge spout and is supported at its end face on an annular shoulder of the bellows.
