  • Publication number: 20100308541
Abstract: The invention relates to a strip sealing gate (1) for sealing a first chamber (2) with a first pressure level (p1) in relation to a second chamber (3) with a second pressure level (p2) that differs from the first, a strip (4), in particular a metal strip, passing through both chambers (2, 3). According to the invention, at least two rollers (5, 6) are provided for sealing the chambers (2, 3), said rollers resting in a sealing manner on either side of the strip (4). The aim of the invention is to improve the sealing action. To achieve this, at least some sections of the circumference of at least one of the rollers (5, 6) are covered with a flexible elastic material (7) and said roller or rollers (5, 6) have an inner core (8) that is covered with a jacket consisting of the flexible elastic material (7). A central region (9) of the inner core (8) has a cylindrical contour (10) and the edge regions (11, 12) of the core (8) are flared.

  • Patent number: 7530250
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for straightening a metal strip (1) which is guided in the direction of transportation (R) through a straightening machine (2) and is straightened. In the straightening device (2), the metal strip (1) is impinged upon by a straightening force (F) which is applied by a plurality of straightening rollers (3) in the direction (N) which is perpendicular to the surface of the metal strip (1). According to the invention, prior to the metal strip (1) entering into the straightening machine (2), the thickness (d) of the metal strip (1) is determined and the position (a) of the straightening rollers (3) in the direction (N) which is perpendicular to the surface of the metal strip (1) is taken into account according to the determined thickness (d).

Abstract: A horizontal strip accumulator for metal strip includes a looper car which is moveable along a travel path at at least one swivel gate which is moveable, when the looper car is moved, by the looper car between a starting position and an end position. For moving the swivel gate, the looper car acts on an actuating element which is connected with the swivel gate through a four-gear mechanism with two swivels. The swivel gate is rotatably arranged on one swivel and the actuating element is rotatably arranged on the other swivel. The actuating element has spoke-shaped projections and the looper car has counter projections which engage between the spoke-shaped projections.

  • Patent number: 5669279
Abstract: A shearing machine for trimming flat material, particularly sheets and strips of metal, includes a rotary blade shear with rotary blade shafts which support the rotary blades and are mounted in an upper blade housing and a lower blade housing. For adjusting the blade gap and the blade overlap in dependence on the material thickness and the material strength, a transverse eccentric is mounted between the upper and lower shear housings so as to connect these housings. The shearing machine further includes a center cut shear with rotary blade shafts which support the rotary blades and are mounted in an upper blade housing and lower blade housing, a frame supporting the center cut shear, and a blade gap adjusting device with a reversible transverse eccentric, wherein the blade gap adjusting device is mounted between the frame and the upper rotary blade of the center cut shear and acts with its transverse eccentric on the end of the movably constructed upper blade housing at the side of the blade.
