  • Patent number: 8564622
Abstract: An IG device configured to generate multiple image streams. The IG device may receive virtual environment (VE) model data identifying at least a portion of a VE. For each cycle of a plurality of cycles over a period of time, the VE model data may be intersected by a first view frustum to identify first scene data, and a graphics subsystem generates a first image based on the first scene data and outputs the first image for presentation. Substantially concurrently therewith, for each cycle, the VE model data may be intersected by a second view frustum to identify second scene data, and a second graphics subsystem of the device in parallel with the first graphics subsystem may generate a second image based on the second scene data and outputs the second image for presentation.

  • Patent number: 7871270
Abstract: A simulator is disclosed which includes an image generator that includes a forward display system and a peripheral display system to provide a field of view. The forward display system utilizes a forward projection system to provide forward imagery with high-resolution. The peripheral display system utilizes a helmet-mounted display system to provide peripheral imagery. The forward and peripheral imagery are merged by the image-generator so as to provide a full field of view with as much high-resolution imagery as possible.

  • Publication number: 20040245395
Abstract: An ice-protection system comprising a heater element, an electrically and thermally insulating medium that at least partially surrounds the heater element, an ice-adhesion-reducing coating, and an outermost surface to which the coating is applied. The coating reduces the ice adhesion of the outermost surface by at least about 30% when compared to an uncoated version of the outermost surface.

  • Patent number: 6384611
Abstract: An ice detector includes a pair of electrodes connected by a pair of leads to a control unit which measures the admittance between leads to thereby sense and detect the presence of ice and other contaminants formed on top thereof utilizing a detection circuit. The electrodes are integrated into patch which can be placed at different locations on an aircraft.
