Publication number: 20130162423Abstract: Various methods and systems related to monitoring the activity of a person receiving assistance from a caregiver are described. In one embodiment, a method for monitoring care receiver (CR) activity includes obtaining an indication that a CR has left a rest location. In response, a sensor of a predefined zone of activity is enabled. A notification is provided in response to activation of the sensor by activity of the CR. In another embodiment, a CR monitoring system includes an occupancy sensor configured to provide an indication that a CR has left a rest location, another sensor configured to monitor CR activity with respect to a zone of activity, and a monitoring device in communication with both sensors. The monitoring device is configured to enable the other sensor in response to an occupancy sensor indication and provide a notification in response to activation of the other sensor by CR activity.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2011Publication date: June 27, 2013Inventors: Meredeth Anne Rowe, Rande W. Patent number: 6625616Abstract: A method and apparatus for materials requirements planning that implements a client/server computer network with an algorithm which enables receiving and preserving input data from the client in a stateless protocol in the server, the input data from a client is preprocessed to determine the MPR state, and stored for each client in the server in a separate side container using stateless protocols. A side container containing a client's data is accessed by distinct SQL and VB code routines to perform specific reports, modification of a required materials order and/or adjustment of material availability for use dates. The preprocessing arranges the input data into record sets of all scheduled material requirements, all currently available and required materials and all unfulfilled ordered materials. The preprocessing is executed via SQL, and the processing is executed via executable code into a temporary record set that is placed into a storage container.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2000Date of Patent: September 23, 2003Inventors: Paul Dragon, Rande W. Patent number: 6345470Abstract: A self-contained automatic watering method and system for plants that includes a container made up of an inner and outer pot nested together to define an annular space which serves as a reservoir for water to be used for watering a plant held in the inner pot. A distributor in the form of an inclined wall is located on the container at least partially surrounding a plant held in the container. A housing is easily detachably mounted on said container and extends into the reservoir. The housing contains a pump, a motor to drive the pump, and a conduit leading from the pump to the distributor for directing water into a plant held in the inner pot, and a controller for controlling the motor to initiate watering cycles according to a preselected program regarding the frequency of watering and quantity of water.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 1999Date of Patent: February 12, 2002Assignee: Fashion Nails, Inc.Inventors: Martin Lynch Slaght, Nevin C. Patent number: 6189541Abstract: A hand operated self-contained machine made out of molded plastic for applying an image on a nail of a person's digit or a golf ball includes a base frame including side rails. An element is provided to establish a reference point. An image creating holder is integrally molded to the side rails. A wheel having projections holding a plate containing a plurality of images is supported on the holder and can be indexed to any one of a plurality of positions by the interaction of the projections and the holder. An image composed of an image defining coating material is created at one image position on the plate. A positioning member receives and adjustably positions a person's digit or object in an appropriate orientation relative to the reference point. A transfer member is mounted on the side rails and a manually operable drive member drives the transfer member in a continuous smooth movement. A method is provided wherein the support of the image plate is indexed to present a new image.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1999Date of Patent: February 20, 2001Assignee: Fashion Nails. Inc.Inventors: Nevin C. Jenkins, Rande W. Newberry

Patent number: 6029673Abstract: A self-hand-operated, self-contained apparatus and method for applying an image on a nail of a person's digit. The apparatus is simple in construction and operation, and consists of a molded base having an upper extending surface defining a digit cutout at one end and an image creating plate cutout at the other end. A carriage holding a pick-up head and squeegee slides on the base and carries an image from the plate to the nail. A combined stop and pointing element is fixed on the base and points to the area where the image is to be deposited. The method applies art to the nail as a single color or multi-color image.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 1999Date of Patent: February 29, 2000Assignee: Fashion Nails, Inc.Inventors: Nevin C. Patent number: 6024099Abstract: A hand-operated self-contained machine made out of molded plastic for applying an image on a nail of a person's digit or an object, such as, a golf ball, consisting of a base frame including side rails. An element is provided to establish a reference point. An image creating holder is integrally molded to the side rails. An indexed wheel holding a plate containing a plurality of images is supported on the holder and can be indexed to any one of a plurality of positions. An image composed of an image defining coating material is created at one image position on the plate. A positioning member receives and adjustably positions a person's digit or object relative to the location of the created image in an appropriate orientation relative to the reference point. A transfer member is mounted on the side rails movable for transferring the created image from the image creating plate to the person's nail or object and a manually operable drive member drives the transfer member.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1998Date of Patent: February 15, 2000Assignee: Fashion Nails, Inc.Inventors: Nevin C. Patent number: 5960798Abstract: A hand-operated apparatus for applying an image on a person's fingernail consisting of a base having an upper surface defining a first cutout. A stop is provided to establish a reference point. An image creating plate is received in the first cutout for creating an image composed of an image defining coating material. A digit positioning member having a V-shaped groove receives and positions a person's digit relative to the location of the created image. An orientation surface is defined by the base against which the free end of the person's digit bears to establish, in cooperation with the V-shaped groove, the appropriate orientation relative to the reference point. A transfer member is mounted on the base movable over the upper surface for transferring the created image from the image creating plate to the person's nail. A method for applying an art image on a person's nail in which a reference point is established.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1998Date of Patent: October 5, 1999Assignee: Fashion Nails, Inc.Inventors: Nevin C.
