  • Patent number: 4656522
Abstract: Method comprises positioning a transparent safety panel in close spaced-apart relationship with the viewing window of a CRT and producing a mechanically-strong, hydraulically-tight closure between the panel and window around the margins thereof. The cell formed thereby is filled with curable liquid resin with the window and panel in an essentially vertical orientation. After bubbles have cleared and inspection completed, the liquid resin filling the cell is cured to an optically-clear solid.

  • Patent number: 4562120
Abstract: An optically-black coating that is adherent to metal surfaces, has a low reflectance of light in the range of about 2000 to 7500 Angstroms, and is chemically stable up to at least 750.degree. C., consists essentially of a minor proportion of an inorganic silicate binder and a major proportion of a particulate mixture of cobaltic oxide and zinc oxide in the weight ratio range of 4/1 to 1/1.

  • Patent number: 4493668
Abstract: A method for fabricating a CRT (cathode-ray tube) in which a partially-completed faceplate-panel assembly is baked-out and heat-sealed to a funnel during the same baking cycle. Jets of oxygen-containing gas are directed intermittently into the open neck of the funnel at least during the heating-up period of the heating cycle.
