Abstract: An improved electronic device and method provide an improved clock feature having an alarm clock function that advantageously provides an indication to a user that the alarm is set, i.e., is in an ON condition, by outputting the alarm time itself.

Abstract: A mobile station includes one or more processors, a wireless transceiver coupled to the one or more processors, and a user interface which includes a visual display and a plurality of keys. The wireless transceiver is operative to receive a message which includes a telephone number string. When the message is visually displayed in the visual display, a hyperlink for the telephone number string in the message is created. The hyperlink for the telephone number string is highlighted when selected by an end user during the visual displaying of the message. In response to the a single depression of a SEND key while the hyperlink is selected, a telephone call to the telephone number string is initiated through the wireless communication network. Detection of the key is made immediately following the selection of the hyperlink without any intervening key depressions.

Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a method, computer program product, mobile device or a system allowing for determining various route metrics based on stored route records associated with routes traversed by the mobile device. The determination of a route metric may utilize processing of a single route record or multiple route records. Exemplary route metrics include route timing metrics such as lap times, or route record metrics. Configurations of computer program products, mobile devices and systems for enabling the determination of various route metrics are also described.

The user interface provides an incoming call screen to the user, where the incoming call screen comprises a caller identification data field for displaying data associated with incoming calls and at least one key label field in which labels for mobile device keys (e.g. send and end keys) are displayed. The area of the caller identification data field is substantially greater than the area of the at least one key label field, enabling more information pertaining to incoming calls to be displayed to the user. In at least one embodiment, this is facilitated by providing user-selectable options for responding to incoming calls in an options menu, which can be accessed by a user but is not initially displayed to the user when an incoming call is first received.

It is determined that the at least one notification device has been activated using a given notification setting. A menu list is responsively changed to include a notification setting change option, the menu list associated with the input device and stored in the memory, such that when the input device is activated, the display is controlled by the processing unit to provide a representation of the menu list such that the notification setting option can be selected and the given notification setting changed.

The data items references to which are presented on the display may include: Past Appointments, i.e., recent meetings associated with the contact; Future Appointments, i.e., upcoming meetings associated with the contact; and Messages, i.e., e-mail messages, SMS messages and Instant Messaging messages both to and from the contact.

Abstract: An electronic device and a method implemented within the electronic device for disambiguating email recipient fields by extracting sufficient information from the domain portion of an intended recipient's email address to disambiguate between a personal and a business email address. An exemplary method includes parsing at least one of said multiple addresses in a recipient field of the email to extract information capable of distinguishing the at least one of said multiple addresses from at least another of the multiple addresses, and displaying the information in the recipient field of the email.

Abstract: A system and method for providing a user interface that allows users to change the active line on which an outgoing call may be placed. In example embodiments, a direction to display a line selection menu on the call screen is received from the user, where the line selection menu is comprised of data identifying one or more of the multiple communication lines accessible at the mobile device. In response to the direction received from the user, the line selection menu is displayed on the call screen, and an input identifying a user-selected communication line is received. A display field in which data identifying the active line is displayed is updated accordingly.

Abstract: While populating an e-mail message with, among other details, an e-mail address for a receiver, an image of the sender is included as part of the e-mail message. Advantageously, at a device in use to execute an e-mail client application on behalf of the receiver, the e-mail client application may automatically add the included image to an address book entry associated with the identity of the sender. Alternatively, the user may be prompted to allow the association of the image with the address book entry of the sender of the message. Later, upon receiving an incoming call from the sender with corresponding CLID information, the call display application may perform a lookup of the CLID information and display the image associated, in the address book, with the sender.
