  • Patent number: 10678670
Abstract: Pre-silicon fairness evaluation to detect fairness issues pre-silicon. Drivers drive a plurality of commands on one or more interfaces of a device under test to test the device under test. State associated with the device under test is checked. Based on the state, a determination is made as to whether the drivers are to continue driving commands against the device under test. Based on determining that the drivers are to continue driving the commands, a further determination is made as to whether a predefined limit has been reached. Based on determining the predefined limit has been reached, ending the test of the device under test in which the test fails.

  • Patent number: 10489294
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to hot cache line arbitration. An example of a computer-implemented method for hot cache line arbitration includes receiving a request for exclusive access to a cache line from a requestor of a drawer in a processing system. The method further includes bringing the cache line to a local cache of the drawer. The method further includes invalidating copies of the cache line in the processing system. The method further includes loading a remote fetch address register (RFAR) controller on other drawers in the processing system, wherein the RFAR comprises a local pending flag and a remote pending flag.

  • Patent number: 10289512
Abstract: Embodiments relate to pre-silicon device testing using a persistent command table. An aspect includes receiving a value for a persistent command parameter from a user. Another aspect includes determining whether the value of the persistent command parameter is greater than zero. Another aspect includes based on determining whether the value of the persistent command parameter is greater than zero, selecting a number of commands equal to the value of the persistent command parameter from a regular command table of a driver of a device under test. Another aspect includes adding the selected commands to the persistent command table of the driver. Another aspect includes performing testing of the device under test via the driver using only commands that are in the persistent command table of the driver.

  • Patent number: 9323676
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a non-data inclusive coherent (NIC) directory for a symmetric multiprocessor (SMP) of a computer. An aspect includes determining a first eviction entry of a highest-level cache in a multilevel caching structure of the first processor node of the SMP. Another aspect includes determining that the NIC directory is not full. Another aspect includes determining that the first eviction entry of the highest-level cache is owned by a lower-level cache in the multilevel caching structure. Another aspect includes, based on the NIC directory not being full and based on the first eviction entry of the highest-level cache being owned by the lower-level cache, installing an address of the first eviction entry of the highest-level cache in a first new entry in the NIC directory. Another aspect includes invalidating the first eviction entry in the highest-level cache.
