  • Patent number: 10726540
Abstract: A method for object defect detection includes receiving digital data representing an image of an object with a repeated pattern. The method identifies a part of the image of the object as defined by a sample window of the digital data. The method generates one or more functions from at least the part of the image, wherein each of the one or more functions corresponds to one component of a pixel contained in the part of the image. Responsive to performing self-similarity analytics on the one or more functions, the method identifies a defect area of the object.

  • Patent number: 10628890
Abstract: A system, a computer readable storage medium, and a method for detecting insurance fraud or for comparing references use visual analytics-based techniques. The method can include identifying a scratch and a scratch location on a vehicle in a 3-dimensional rendering in comparison to a base image or in comparison to a stored image in a database, comparing one or more features of the scratch such as color features of the scratch in the scratch location in comparison to the scratch location or comparing one or more texture features of the scratch in the scratch location in comparison to the scratch location in the base image or the stored image. The method can further generate a similarity calculation based on the one or more comparisons for the scratch, the scratch location, the one or more scratch features of the scratch and presents a result in response to the similarity calculation.

  • Publication number: 20200025570
Abstract: A camera-based localization system is provided. The camera-based localization system may assist an unmanned vehicle to continue its operation in a GPS-denied environment with minimal increase in vehicular cost and payload. In one aspect, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for localization via visual inertial odometry are provided. The apparatus may construct an optical flow based on feature points across a first video frame and a second video frame captured by a camera of the apparatus. The apparatus may refine the angular velocity and the linear velocity corresponding to the second video frame via solving a quadratic optimization problem constructed based on the optical flow, the initial values of the angular velocity and the linear velocity corresponding to the second video frame. The apparatus may estimate the pose of the apparatus based on the refined angular velocity and the refined linear velocity.

  • Patent number: 10289451
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a system for adjusting a deployment location of a virtual machine in order resolve a problem that an inter-node communication cost has excessively great impact on an adjustment result in an existing solution for adjusting a deployment location of a virtual machine in a cloud computing system, the inter-node communication cost is corrected according to technical solutions provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure. Consequently, not only a corrected inter-node communication cost can exert impact on the result for adjusting a deployment location of a virtual machine, but also communication traffic can play a major role in affecting the adjustment result. Therefore, a more appropriate result for adjusting a deployment location of a virtual machine can be obtained, and bandwidth consumption inside the cloud computing system can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6022261
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vertically sinkable toy ship model comprising a plurality of compartments having a plurality of correspondent holes to provide fluid communication between the compartments. When the toy ship model is set for sinking, water enters into the first compartment of the hull through an adjustable opening to cause the ship model to tilt forward to initiate sinking with the aid of a weight until the water level reaches the first wall hole between the first compartment and the second compartment whereby the water will then flow from the first compartment into the second compartment via the first compartment wall hole to cause the sinking ship to rise into a vertically standing position in the water; the water will likewise proceed to fill the last compartment, at which point the water will fills the entire hull to cause the sinking ship to submerge under water.
