  • Publication number: 20240102132
Abstract: A metal matrix composite to high tolerate wear as a property has been produced by infiltration casting of a Fe Alloy and a spinel ceramic by using a material design for i) metal transport phenomena conditions, ii) predefined wetting and capillarity and iii) processing child insert/mother casting methodology to produce a final casting in shape and form to meet the needs of a mining end user.

  • Patent number: 9248273
Abstract: A 3D microelectrode device includes a flexible substrate containing poly-dimethyl siloxane (PDMS). The device may be fabricated in a miniature form factor suitable for attachment to a small organ such as a lateral gastrocnemius muscle of a live rat. In addition to providing a miniaturized, conformable attachment, the device provides an anchoring action via one or more microelectrodes, each having an insertable tip particularly shaped to provide the anchoring action. Furthermore, a base portion of each of the microelectrodes is embedded inside conductive poly-dimethyl siloxane (cPDMS). The cPDMS is contained in a pad that is coupled to a conductive track embedded in the flexible substrate. Embedding of the base portion inside the cPDMS material not only allows the microelectrode to bend in various directions, but also provides good electrical conductivity while eliminating the need for attachment processes using solder or epoxy adhesives.

  • Patent number: 9127887
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device and a method for transversely moving tubular material inside a furnace, in which the tubes are able to roll in order to have a path per cycle that is 2.5 times as great as that obtained in the case of moving bars, and in which the tubes are pushed by a series of toothed bars that have an upward and downward movement plus a horizontal movement in vacuum. The device and a method for moving tubular material inside an furnace allows a greater rotation of the tubes over short cycle times, solves the problems of twisting of smaller-diameter tubes (tubing) in quench furnaces and meets the need to rotate the tubes when there is no forward movement, which may be necessary when cycle times are long or when unloading from the furnace is interrupted.

  • Patent number: 5353006
Abstract: A vehicle anti-theft control which prevents the vehicle from being started by providing a code input authorization system working in combination with an enclosed controller relay system of a solonoid which prevents the starter motor from engaging the engine until after a correct code authorization is received. The controller is housed in an intermediate chamber of a solonoid housing and cannot be circumvented by exterior hot wiring so as to prevent electricity from passing to either the pulling or holding coils of the solonoid.

  • Patent number: 5138986
Abstract: A novel machine with an internal combustion engine, and practical use-control means to prevent an unauthorized person from starting such engine, and anti-bypass means to prevent a knowledgeable prepared unauthorized person from defeating use-control means within a practical period of time as a feasible means for unauthorized starting of the engine. Use-control means require a proper authorization code be entered into code-input means before enabling engine starting. Anti-bypass means include enclosing parts of the use-control means within a tamper-proof enclosing-component and selecting such parts and components so that use-control means cannot be manipulated to start the engine by an unauthorized user within a practical amount of time. In one embodiment a solenoid component containing a shielded enclosure and two solenoids is attached to the starter-motor of a car or truck using novel one-way fasteners.
