    Abstract: An extensible tether is provided for tethering a juvenile vehicle seat to a tether anchor in a vehicle. The extensible tether includes a tether strap and a compliant member trapped in a space formed in the tether strap and configured to deform when a longitudinal tugging force is applied to the tether strap to lengthen the extensible tether during sudden vehicle stoppage or slowdown.
