  • Patent number: 9136068
Abstract: An electrical contactor has a first terminal having an electrically-conductive fixed member with fixed contacts on opposite faces thereof, and a second terminal having a terminal body and an odd-number of electrically-conductive movable arms extending from the terminal body. Each movable arm has a movable contact thereon remote from the terminal body. The movable arms are arranged to oppose each other such that their movable contacts are on either side of the fixed member and aligned with the fixed contacts. The arrangement of the fixed member and the movable arms is such that, when the contacts close, current flowing through the movable arms produces a force which urges the movable arms towards each other thereby increasing a force between the fixed and movable contacts. The number of movable arms at each side of the fixed member is different.

  • Publication number: 20150228428
Abstract: An electrical contactor has first and second terminals; a movable arm connected to the second terminal; and an actuator. The actuator has a magnet, first and second coils having a common connection and located either side of the magnet, a magnetic rocking armature pivotably attached between the coils and an actuation element connected to the first end of the rocking armature for actuating the movable arm. Driving the first coil causes a demagnetization of the first coil and a corresponding increase in magnetic flux in the second coil, latching the armature to the second coil and moving the movable arm in a first direction. Driving the second coil causes a demagnetization of the second coil and a corresponding increase in magnetic flux in the first coil, latching the rocking armature to the first coil and moving the movable arm in a second direction.

  • Publication number: 20150220465
Abstract: A data processing system 2 includes an interrupt controller having a priority level arbitrator 10 and trigger circuitry 12. The priority level arbitrator 10 and the trigger circuitry 12 operate in parallel to process interrupt signals received by an interrupt signal receiver 6. The trigger circuitry 12 generates a trigger signal initiating interrupt processing before the priority level arbitrator 10 has completed its arbitration determination at an arbitration-completed time. If the interrupt processing triggered by the trigger signal was inappropriate, then is terminated once the result of the arbitration is known after the arbitration-completed time.

  • Patent number: 9074152
Abstract: A plasma-assisted waste gasification system and process for converting waste stream reaction residues into a clean synthesis gas (syngas) is disclosed. The feedstock is fed into a reactor roughly one-third from the bottom through the use of a feed mechanism. The reactor has three zones; a bottom zone where melting occurs, a middle zone where gasification takes place, and a top zone with integrated plasma torches to control the temperature and polish the syngas. The residence times in the three zones are selected to optimize the syngas composition and melted products. The syngas leaves the reactor and is partially quenched with relatively cooler synthesis gas. The partially quenched syngas is further cooled to recover heat for steam generation and/or preheating the waste stream to the reactor. The cold syngas is then processed to remove pollutants. The clean synthesis gas is combusted in power generation equipment to generate electricity, or converted to other fuels by chemical processes.

  • Patent number: 9047231
Abstract: A data saving device, system, and method rapidly and deterministically saves data of a computer system. The device may mark data that must be saved when the computer is shut down. In certain embodiments, a boot control module detects a condition requiring a rapid deterministic data saving operation, such as a power failure and reboots the computer, deterministically terminating all existing processes. Additionally, the boot control module loads a data transfer kernel in place of a standard operating kernel used for normal operation. The data transfer kernel supports a set of processes exclusively dedicated to saving data. The data transfer kernel configures the computer and storage devices for the data transfer and saves the marked data with a minimum of interruptions from other processes. Also, the data transfer kernel may shut down the computer and the storage devices after transferring data.

  • Publication number: 20150145621
Abstract: An electrical contactor has a first terminal having a fixed member with at least one fixed electrical contact, a second terminal, and a busbar connected to the second terminal. Two conductive movable arms are connected to the busbar and have a contact thereon. One arm is biased-closed to contact the fixed electrical contact in the absence of a separating force, and the other arm is biased-open to be spaced away from the fixed electrical contact in the absence of a closing force. The first and second movable arms and the busbar are arranged so that, when the contacts close, contra-flowing current urges the movable arms towards the fixed member to increase a force between the contacts.

  • Publication number: 20150145619
Abstract: An electrical contactor has a first terminal having a fixed member with at least one fixed electrical contact, a second terminal, and at least one movable electrical contact in electrical communication with the second terminal. A dual-coil actuator is also provided and has a first drive coil drivable to open and close the movable and fixed electrical contacts, and a second non-drive coil feedback connected to induce a reverse flux to temper and stabilize a net flux. Control of a delay time of the opening and closing electrical contacts is thus possible, so as to be at or adjacent to a subsequent or next zero-crossing of an associated AC load current waveform.

  • Patent number: 9040881
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cooking control method performed by a cooking apparatus for a food item. The method comprises obtaining a unique identifier and cooking data for the food item, and checking for a record of the unique identifier in a memory of the cooking apparatus. If a record of the unique identifier is located in the memory, then the cooking apparatus will not cook the food item. Otherwise a cooking process based on the cooking data to cook the food item is performed. Accordingly, cooking data for a given instance of a food item can only be used once in order to activate a cooking process performed by the cooking apparatus. The present invention also features product recall as well as the ability to track food item sales via a cooking data communications system.
