In a preferred embodiment, the present invention provides photorealistic images using compact, efficient software routines that are easily customizable and have full-scalability. The layered image compositing system and method for user interfaces include elements having a pivot coordinate system based on a parent-child relationship and intelligent invalidation mechanism.
