  • Publication number: 20230082771
Abstract: A method of retrofitting a spent nuclear fuel system with a neutron absorbing apparatus. The method includes inserting a neutron absorbing apparatus into a first cell of an array of cells each configured to hold a spent nuclear fuel assembly. The neutron absorbing apparatus includes a first wall and a second wall supported by a corner spine to form a chevron shape and a first locking tab protruding outwardly from the first wall towards a first cell wall of the first cell. The method includes cutting a half-sheared second locking tab in the first cell wall of the first cell adjacent to and above the first locking tab of the neutron absorbing apparatus. Finally, the second locking tab is positioned to locking engage the first locking tab to retain the neutron absorbing apparatus in the first cell during removal of one of the fuel assemblies from the first cell.

  • Patent number: 11495121
Abstract: Systems and methods that may be implemented to employ a programmable integrated circuit within a smart battery pack to detect and/or log occurrence of chassis intrusion and/or tampering events in a battery-powered information handling system within which the smart battery pack is installed. A battery management unit (BMU) or other programmable integrated circuit of the installed smart battery pack may be utilized to detect occurrence of a tampering and/or intrusion event into the chassis of the host information handling system based on a current state of a system present (Sys_Pres) signal at the battery pack that indicates temporary or permanent disconnection of system motherboard circuitry from the smart battery pack of the battery-powered information handling system. Such a detected occurrence of a tampering and/or intrusion event may be reported to a remote human user of remote system and/or to a local human user of the local system.

  • Patent number: 11201796
Abstract: A method and system for enabling transfer of widgets across containers at runtime. According to embodiments of the present invention, a user is allowed to transfer a widget across containers at runtime, for example, moving a widget that has been deployed and operated in one widget container to another, even though the destination widget container originally does not support the widget. Specifically, the widget being transferred can keep consistency in terms of data and state before and after the transfer. Furthermore, the user can implement the cross-container transfer of widgets at runtime by, for example, convenient interaction means like a drag-and-drop operation. In this way, the user can operate and interact with Web applications in a more convenient and flexible way.

  • Patent number: 6603493
Abstract: A computer display layout manager that reduces the need to hand-craft the layout of application screens is able to rearrange elements according to the shape of the available area. The automated process helps interface designers create user interfaces which work well on multiple devices and in resizeable windows. The layout manager uses height for width and width for height trade-offs to resize elements. The elements of each row or column are packed and resized according to predetermined preferred sizing criteria.

  • Patent number: 6571253
Abstract: A Web browser is used as the rendering engine for the client application. The browser is instructed to load a “page” (some set of instructions that eventually resolves to a sequence of HTML (HyperText Markup Language) tags which instruct the browser regarding the number/nature and layout of the controls desired) which the browser parses to produce a set of controls with the indicated containment hierarchy. These controls may contain definitions of data stores (such as the support for an XML (eXtended Markup Language) tag which produces a W3C compliant DOM (Docunent Object Model) with built-in parsing for XML documents) which may either locally define their data or cause the browser to request the data from a server on the network. Preferably, the browser then passes control to a data binding agent which will examine the controls for specification of desired data binding(s).

  • Patent number: 6414698
Abstract: Display elements are designed to answer element size queries by a layout manager which enable an enhanced layout manager to pack elements on the display with greater uniformity and density than is possible with the element size queries available in the state of the art. The layout manager automatically uses height-for-width and/or width-for-height trade-offs to optimally resize said elements according to the shape of the available area.

  • Patent number: 6092121
Abstract: Reliable and secure transmission of information over the Internet is provided in a financial transaction processing system. The system electronically integrates data captured in heterogeneous information systems and transmits that data reliably and securely over the Internet between multiple diverse servers. The system includes at least one local computer system which electronically captures information input by a user of the computer system. The local computer system can access one or more remote servers via the Internet for form a dynamically reconfigurable wide area network (WAN).
