  • Publication number: 20240097696
Abstract: Example channel circuits, data storage devices, and methods for asynchronous sampling from an oversampled analog-to-digital converter are described. The channel circuit may include an analog-to-digital converter configured to generate an oversampled digital signal from an analog data signal using a sample rate that is an integer multiple of the baud rate of the channel circuit. A digital sample interpolator may then interpolate interpolated digital signal values from multiple signal values of the oversampled digital signal and select values at baud rate to generate a baud rate digital signal. The baud rate digital signal may be used by an iterative detector in a timing loop and, once a target timing is achieved, for the iterative detector to detect data bits from the interpolated digital signal.

  • Patent number: 5012489
Abstract: A method for communicating with a plurality of hosts connected to an X.25 network and for selectably using a character as a control character or a data character. Each character received from the X.25 network is inspected to determine if it is one of a set of reserved characters. If so, the character is encoded before being sent to its final destination. Data intended for the X.25 network is inspected for the presence of a predetermined control character. If the control character is present, the next character is inspected to determine whether it is a command character or an encoded data character. If this next character is an encoded data character, it is decoded and provided to the X.25 network. If this next character is a command character, then the command is executed. The method allows the use of any character as either a command character or data character. Data transfer between the DTE and DCE is assigned a PAD and a virtual channel number which corresponds to a particular host on the X.25 network.

  • Patent number: 4715959
Abstract: Hemodialysis ultrafiltration apparatus comprises a dialyzer. A closed circuit is provided for supplying fresh dialysate to and for removing spent dialysate from the dialyzer. Blood is supplied to and removed from the dialyzer. The closed circuit for supplying fresh dialysate and removing spent dialysate is apportioned into below mean dialyzer blood pressure and above atmospheric pressure sections, with the dialyzer being positioned in the below mean dialyzer blood pressure section. A mechanism is provided for controlling the pressure of fresh dialysate introduced into the below mean dialyzer blood pressure section to substantially match the pressure on the dialysate side of the dialyzer. A mechanism is provided for controlling the above atmospheric pressure portion of the spent dialysate circuit.

  • Patent number: 4496986
Abstract: An interface for subscription television reception which restores the program selection function to the tuner of the television receiver. This is of particular importance to subscribers using remote control receivers. Subscription television signals are split into two substantially identical components, one of which is fed to the tuner of the television receiver and the other of which is passed through a band reject filter to an adder. The intermediate frequency output of the tuner is converted to a predetermined carrier frequency in the television broadcast band and, as so converted, fed to the other input of the adder. The output of the adder is, in turn, fed to a conventional subscription television converter/decoder, which is set to select the program on the predetermined carrier frequency and decode the same. The converter/decoder output is converted to the intermediate frequency carrier for amplification and further processing in the intermediate frequency circuitry of the television receiver.

  • Patent number: 4161182
Abstract: An extensible sanitary hose used for the transfer of sewage from a holding tank to a sanitary facility may be cleaned and stored by the use of a combination holding and cleaning device which is fabricated from an elongated hollow cylinder having a number of openings extending laterally therethrough distributed along its length, such cylinder being open at one end and closed at the other end. A circular retaining member is mounted to the cylinder adjacent its closed end for supporting the bottom end of the hose for restraining the hose in place thereon, and a locking ring is removably mounted to the cylinder adjacent its open end.
