  • Patent number: 7305511
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for providing both wireline and wireless connections to a wireline interface includes a first wireline interface, a second wireline interface, a wireless interface, and a switch coupled to the first wireline interface, the second wireline interface, and the wireless interface. The switch can selectively couple the first wireline interface to the second wireline interface to allow communication between the first and second wireline interfaces. The switch can further selectively couple the first wireline interface to the wireless interface to allow communication between the first wireline interface and the wireless interface.

  • Patent number: 7136904
Abstract: A method for emulating a physical connection using a wireless connection includes establishing a communication connection with a peripheral according to a communication protocol using a host controller. The method further includes receiving a wireless signal carrying data having a format specified by the communication protocol, extracting the data from the wireless signal, and communicating the data to the peripheral using the communication connection.

  • Patent number: 6950859
Abstract: A method for emulating a physical connection using a wireless connection includes establishing a communication connection with a host controller according to a first communication protocol and establishing a wireless connection with a wireless device coupled to a peripheral. The method further includes receiving a wireless signal comprising registration information for the peripheral formatted according to a second communication protocol and communicating the registration information to the host controller using the communication connection. The communication of the registration information to the host controller allows the host controller to recognize the peripheral.

  • Publication number: 20030083838
Abstract: A remote test and measurement system including a test head that analyzes characteristics of a communication line and reports the results via a network. A server interfaces with the test head, via the network, and sends and receives commands and data therewith. A interface device interfaces with the server via the network. The interface device issues commands to the test head and receives data from the test head via the server.

  • Patent number: 4918588
Abstract: An office automation system that provides for the incorporation of documents of all types by integrating images into the system. A minicomputer-based system includes applications such as word processing, data base, and mail, each of which can access image documents. Bulk storage of document images is provided using a variety of storage media such as microfilm, microfiche, and optical disks. An image access subsystem provides to each of the office automation applications uniform access to images stored on all of the media. The image access subsystem can use a hardward controller to handle some of the complexity of retrieval of images from the image storage devices. A relational data base system is used to organize the stored images so as to provide flexible access to the images and to isolate any effects of reconfiguration of the image storage system.
