  • Patent number: 4000218
Abstract: Particulate thermoplastic polyurethane polymers are produced in inert organic non-solvent for the polymer by polymerization of diisocyanate, dihydroxy polymer and chain extender in the presence of an organic polymeric interfacial agent. The agent can be a block copolymer of C.sub.6 -C.sub.30 alkyl alkenoate and vinyl halide, a block copolymer of the alkenoate and a polyoxyalkylene glycol, a block copolymer of the alkenoate and a cyclic ester such as caprolactone, or a graft copolymer of the alkenoate, vinyl monomer with hydroxyl or amino group such as an hydroxyalkyl acrylate or an amino alkyl acrylate, and a cyclic ester.

  • Patent number: 3989676
Abstract: Compositions useful for the formation of high performance coatings are provided as the reaction products of a caprolactone polyol having an average hydroxyl functionality of at least three and a polyepoxide. The products formed by reaction of a caprolactone triol and a cycloaliphatic diepoxide are used with particular advantage as the active hydrogen-containing component of polyurethane formulations to be applied as coatings on external surfaces of aircraft.
