  • Patent number: 4685365
Abstract: An angle shear for cutting profile steel has generally parallel and spaced front and rear frame plates fixed relative to each other, at least one fixed blade carried on the front plate, a working slide displaceable vertically between the frame plates, and individual guide rails extending at an acute angle of generally 45.degree. to the vertical and secured to one of the frame plates. An angle slide displaceable along the guides generally at 45.degree. to the vertical between the plates carries a movable blade displaceable past the fixed blade. Formations link the slides for joint synchronous movement between the plates. Both slides move in generally the same plane and have front and rear faces directly confronting and engaging the front and rear plates, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4407614
Abstract: A workpiece such as a steel profile to be perforated at predetermined distances from a longitudinal reference surface thereof is moved past a plurality of perforating tools, such as punching or drill presses, mounted on a main slide and associated with respective sensors carried on an ancillary slide, the two slides being provided with a rack-and-pinion coupling working into a position detector. Each sensor comprises two sensing heads movable, upon selective activation prior to operation of the corresponding tool, transversely to the workpiece path with a slight relative offset; the ancillary slide is displaced until the reference surface is detected by one--but not both--sensing heads whereupon a corrective motion is imparted to the main slide under the control of the position detector.

  • Patent number: 4381169
Abstract: A support carriage of a manipulator carries an outrigger arm on which is mounted a grab assembly. Upper and lower jaws pivotal on the assembly about respective superposed upper and lower parallel axes can be moved by an actuator head engaging both of these jaws from an open position in which the jaws are pivoted apart from each other to a closed position in which the jaws are pivoted together. The lower jaw is moved at first into the closed position and locked therein before the upper jaw is moved all the way down into the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4369907
Abstract: A puncher-riveter has a fixed lower part having an upper surface and a vertically displaceable upper part above the lower part and having a lower surface. A hydraulic motor vertically displaces the upper part toward and away from the lower part. A punch having a lower punch end is vertically displaceable on the upper part between an upper rest position with the lower end above the lower surface of the upper part and a lower working position with the lower end below this lower surface. A die is provided on the lower part in vertical alignment with the punch so that the lower punch end can engage in the die when the punch is in the lower working position and the upper part is displaced down toward the lower part.

  • Patent number: 4322994
Abstract: A profile-steel shear usable for cutting or punching profile-steel members has a pair of relatively fixed, spaced-apart, and parallel frame plates flanking a drive plate having a lower end edge engaging the upper end edge of a blade-type work plate. The outer faces of the drive and work plates are formed adjacent the abutting ends with grooves parallel to these abutting ends. U-shaped clips or elements each have one leg engaged in a respective groove of the drive plate and another leg engaged in a respective groove of the work plate so that these U-shaped elements secure the work and drive plates together for relative displacement by means of a hydraulic actuator normally situated atop the frame plates. These U-shaped elements are releasably retained on the work and drive plates with their legs in the respective grooves by means of screws engaged through them and with the work or drive plates.

  • Patent number: 4267756
Abstract: A power shear has a pair of parallel frame plates spaced apart to either side of a fixed blade and a movable blade. The movable blade can be displaced past the fixed blade to shear a workpiece extending across the plane and resting on the fixed blade A holddown plate is slidably mounted in rails on one of the frame plates and has a pair of edges guided by the rails and overreached by teeth formed on these rails. These edges of the holddown plate are formed with notches that can be aligned with the teeth to allow removal of the holddown plate in a direction perpendicular to its plane. A positioning spindle threaded through a nut fixed on the one frame plate can have an enlarged head engaged in a T-shaped cutout of the holddown plate so that when the holddown plate is lifted perpendicularly off the frame plate it is also disengaged from the positioning spindle.

  • Patent number: 4267758
Abstract: A metalworking machine such as a punch or shear has a pair of substantially parallel and spaced-apart frame plates which are mounted fixedly relative to each other and which flank a vertically displaceable work slide formed at its upper edge with a T-shaped notch. A hydraulic ram is fixed to the plates and has a flat T-shaped piston rod receivable in the T-shaped notch of the slide for force transmission between the piston and the slide. The piston and slide can be separated from each other by relative lateral displacement perpendicular to the plane of the slide.
