    Abstract: A closure cap snap-fitted to the lower end of a dispenser body is threaded to the neck of a container of fluid to be dispensed and resists back-off or loosening from the container by resisting rotation of the body about the central axis of the container. Cooperating slip-resistant surfaces are provided between an edge wall of a flexible skirt on the cap and a confronting flange on the body. Rotation of the body is further resisted by the provision of slip-resistant cooperating surfaces between opposing sides of a gasket seal and the respective lower and upper confronting surface of the dispenser body and the container neck.

    Abstract: A fluid dispenser has a discharge path outletting at a discharge orifice provided in a nozzle cap in engagement with a nipple surrounding a dispenser needle valve, the cap being adjustable axially of the needle valve so as to move an open ended swirl chamber, which surrounds the discharge orifice, relative to the needle valve into and out of engagement therewith. The fluid is emitted from the discharge orifice in a concentrated and linear pattern upon disengagement between the swirl chamber and the needle valve. Otherwise, upon movement of the cap until the needle valve plugs the open end of the swirl chamber, a shaped spray pattern is created through the discharge orifice. The orifice is defined by a circular wall and by a pair of opposed projections thereon, the projections extending inwardly of the orifice and having spaced apart ends so as to effect a substantially flat spray pattern through the orifice when movement of the cap toward the needle valve causes the valve to plug the swirl chamber end.

    Abstract: A dispensing pump for application to a product container includes an elongated housing having a recess in a sidewall thereof and a flexible bulbous diaphragm seated over the recess for a trigger-type actuation as the housing is gripped in the manner of a handle. A variable volume pump chamber is defined by the diaphragm together with the recess, and an inlet passage is provided in the housing through which the product passes from the container into the recess. The diaphragm has an annular inner skirt for closing the inlet passage in response to axial deformation of the diaphragm, as well as intermediate and outer annular skirts. The intermediate skirt has a lower free edge portion normally covering a discharge port in the housing which communicates with the pump housing, and the outer skirt has a lower free edge portion normally covering a vent port in the housing which communicates with the atmosphere.

    Abstract: A resiliently deformable diaphragm having a central domed portion surrounded by a marginal flange, has its flange clamped between opposing members of the pump housing whereby the central domed portion of the housing co-operates with one of the members to define a variable volume pump chamber. The convex side of the dome is received within a central opening in the other member and normally seats over and closes a vent port within said opening. An actuating lever fulcrumed on the housing has an arm movable upwardly through the said opening to deforming engagement with the diaphragm dome to alternately compress and to permit expansion of the dome.
