  • Patent number: 4880069
Abstract: A low profile electronic bathroom scale includes a base having a pair of elongate rigid deformable members affixed thereto. The end portions of the deformable members are spaced from the base and define cantilevered beams having a plurality of strain gauges secured to the respective upper surfaces thereof. A rigid deck is secured to the ends of the deformable members by clips so that the weight of a person on the deck is transferred to the deformable members, causing the latter to deform, and imposing a strain on the strain gauges. The bridge circuit output signal is converted into a perceptive weight read-out.

  • Patent number: 4421186
Abstract: The weight of items carried by a fork lift truck may be measured by this fork lift scale. This fork lift scale consists of horizontally disposed load sensors connecting a crossbar frame to the crossbars of the fork lift truck. Forks are supported by the crossbar frame. Strain gages are mounted on the load sensors to sense the weight of items carried on the forks. The strain gages are mounted to sense vertical shear or bending in the load sensors. The strain gages are positioned on the load sensors and are electrically interconnected so that types of loading, other than vertical loading due to the weight of items placed on the forks, are rejected and not measured by this fork lift scale.

  • Patent number: 4323132
Abstract: A mounting adapter provides a quick attachment means for mounting or removing an electro-mechanical scale with respect to the lift frame of a fork lift truck. The scale comprises a scale frame, which supports the lifting forks, and also includes a plurality of deformable bolts each having strain gages thereon to sense deformation of the bolts when a load is placed on the forks. Circuit means produce output signals caused by deformation of the bolts and the circuit means also converts the signals to perceptive weight readouts. The mounting adapter includes transverse frame members to which the deformable bolts are secured. Clamping means clamp the frame members of the mounting adapter to the lift frame of the fork lift truck.

  • Patent number: 4034920
Abstract: A bale feeder device for a mixer grinder vehicle includes an elongate conveyor and table structure which is mounted on the mixer grinder vehicle chassis. The conveyor and table structure may be positioned to discharge slabs of hay into the hammer mill of the mixer grinder vehicle to permit the hay to be chopped or ground into small pieces. A feed chute positions the hay bale on the conveyor and table structure to permit conveyor chains having teeth thereon to rip away portions of the bale. A slab feeder roll cooperates with the conveyor chains to convey the slabs of hay along the table where the hay is directed to the hammer mill by feed rolls.
