  • Patent number: 7668858
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for building a search query in a data processing system having a graphical user interface is provided. Responsive to user input, a graphical component representing a first system object is dropped onto a graphical component representing a query function. A set of attributes of the first system object is presented. Responsive to user selection, a search query is created from the selected set of attributes.

  • Publication number: 20080215560
Abstract: A business enterprise level information technology management system database implementation providing search results responsive to a user query that filters the extensive data that may be generated in the search result so that the user and his need for data is taken into account. An implementation determining the role of the requesting user relative to the selected activities, tracking the frequency of use of the requesting user's actions relative to the selected activities and presenting the search results to the requesting user with suggested user actions customized based upon said role of the user and prioritized based upon said frequency of use.

  • Patent number: 6816855
Abstract: A user-interactive display interface implementation for building structured software program statements and, particularly, such structured statements which may serve as search queries to databases including a plurality of display rows together with means enabling the entry of program terms into each of said rows. A template is vertically movable to each of said rows and includes a template row of indicators, each defining a type of program term enabled to be positioned in said row coincident with said indicator. There are a plurality of user-activatable menus of selectable terms, each menu respectively associated with one of said indicators. The selectable terms in each of the menus are respectively of the term type enabled to be positioned coincident with the associated indicator. Then, for editing purposes, there is selection of one of said indicators to thereby display the menu associated with the selected indicator.

  • Patent number: 6208339
Abstract: A computer controlled interactive display system for for providing a user interface for data entry with user changeable autocomplete functions for the data entry fields. For each of the fields, there is provided autocomplete means, i.e. means for automatically providing a proposed completion of a user entry into at least one of said fields, and user-interactive means for selectively disabling or otherwise modifying said means for automatically providing a proposed completion. Further means are provided for indicating whether said means for automatically providing a proposed completion of user entries has been disabled for a data entry field.

  • Patent number: 5761380
Abstract: A method for installing a network application is disclosed. First, the hardware resources of at least a local computer system in the network are determined. Next, the a number of users in a cell of the network is determined. The installation process determines whether the hardware resources of the local computer system can provide an adequate level of performance for the number of users in the cell if all of the network application are installed on the local computer system. If not, an installation plan is calculated to distribute components of the network application in a plurality of computer systems to provide an adequate level of performance for the cell. The installation plan is presented on a local system display. The network administrator is afforded the opportunity to change the assumptions used to generate the installation plan. Once satisfied, the network application is installed in the plurality of computer systems according to the installation plan.
