The apparatus has a shaft and a propeller to withdraw water from below and feed the water upwardly. The propeller is surrounded by a pipe through which the water withdrawn by the propeller flows upwardly. The inner diameter of the pipe is considerably larger than the diameter of the propeller, a flange to guide water to the sides, and a motor that rotates the propeller.
