  • Patent number: 11338199
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards techniques to measure interaction latency. Interaction latency can be measured at a client device by measuring time intervals between user inputs and corresponding feedback, such as video frames responsive to the user inputs. Feedback can comprise communication bursts received at the client device. The communication bursts can be detected and correlated with user inputs in order to measure interaction latency. Feedback can also comprise video response features which are responsive to the user inputs. Received video frames can be analyzed to discover response features, and video frames including the response features can be correlated with user inputs in order to measure interaction latency.

  • Publication number: 20220159528
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards intelligent dual-connectivity for non-standalone network nodes. Network nodes can report state information to a central controller, such as a radio access network intelligent controller. The controller can determine, based on the state information reported by multiple network nodes, network nodes to cooperate in non-standalone mode. The controller can provide the network nodes with instructions to implement the controller's non-standalone relationship determinations.

  • Publication number: 20220150713
Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards dynamic spread spectrum (DSS) deployments, in which two cells such as an LTE cell and a new radio (NR) cell share available physical resource blocks. In one implementation, the LTE cell and NR cell each periodically report spectral efficiency data and pending packet data to a controller, such as a RAN intelligent controller, or RIC. The controller uses the reported data, possibly along with biasing weight data, to allocate the total number of available shared spectrum resource blocks to the LTE and NR cells, for use in scheduling their respective user equipment communications until the next reporting period. The resource blocks allocated to the LTE cell do not collide with the resource blocks allocated to the NR cell, such as by top-down, bottom-up frequency division, or via an allocation bitmap sent to each cell.

  • Publication number: 20220132363
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards a transport protocol for latency sensitive applications. The disclosed transport protocol is “semi-reliable” in that it allows for specification of an importance of data being transmitted, thereby allowing important data to be sent reliably, while other data can be dropped if necessary, e.g., under bad network conditions. A deadline can be specified for such other data, and if the other data cannot be sent prior to the deadline, it can be dropped. Furthermore, the disclosed transport protocol can allow for early discovery of network jitter. A client device can send regular acknowledgments which identify most recently received data packets as well as a number of “heartbeat transmissions” received at the client device. A server device can use the acknowledgments to discover and respond to jitter.

  • Patent number: 11310732
Abstract: Fast-aiding radio access network intelligent controllers (RICs) can assist other RICs that are experiencing performance issues. The system can take into account the availability of other RICs that can aid the RIC needing assistance. Therefore, multiple RICs cooperatively working together can generate synergies, and allow differentiated RICs to operate in both predefined and/or dynamically create RIC groups. Once a RIC that needs assistance is identified, other RICs can offload functionalities that are less important than the functionality of the RIC that is experiencing the performance issues. After the assisting RIC has offloaded its functionalities, it can then devote resources to the RIC that needs the assistance.

  • Patent number: 11297554
Abstract: An intelligent determination of a set of candidate handover-beams for a radio access network (RAN) can be facilitated by a RAN intelligent controller (RIC). The RIC can obtain data associated with user equipment devices and their current state, historical patterns, and a current state of serving network node devices and neighboring network node devices. Based on the obtained data, a handover procedure can be optimized by the user equipment by estimating the signal quality from a source cell and neighboring cells. Additionally, the user equipment can send measurement reports to the network to identify and quantify the quality of reference signals transmitted by the network node devices.

  • Publication number: 20220092606
Abstract: A cloud services composition system allows customers to interactively create service constructs from network function virtualization resources. The network function virtualization primitives are modeled using a standard modeling language. An expert system suggests network function virtualization resources for use in the service construct, based on an expert system learning algorithm. The customer uses a graphical user interface to interconnect the resources and create the service construct. The process may involve collaboration with the network provider. The resulting construct is validated for use in a communications network.

  • Publication number: 20220086055
Abstract: A model-driven system automatically deploys a virtualized service, including multiple service components, on a distributed cloud infrastructure. A master service orchestrator causes a cloud platform orchestrator to retrieve a cloud services archive file, extract a cloud resource configuration template and create cloud resources at appropriate data centers as specified. The master service orchestrator also causes a software defined network controller to retrieve the cloud services archive file, to extract a cloud network configuration template and to configure layer 1 through layer 3 virtual network functions and to set up routes between them. Additionally, the master service orchestrator causes an application controller to retrieve the cloud services archive file, to extract a deployment orchestration plan and to configure and start layer 4 through layer 7 application components and bring them to a state of operational readiness.

  • Patent number: 11271624
Abstract: Precoding matrix computations for a large number of antenna arrays can be used to generate efficiencies within a wireless network. Utilizing network topology and context data in conjunction with known available network resources and mobile device measurements can facilitate gains in power and spectral efficiency and reduction in computation complexity posed by current procedures. To take advantage of multiple paths, the precoding matrix can be known at the radio units for each mobile device.
