  • Patent number: 11698472
Abstract: Seismic data are obtained by recording simultaneously in seismic streamer, acquired by activating approximately simultaneously two or more seismic sources towed at two positions in the vicinity of seismic streamers. A residual is updated iteratively for an inversion solution for the activations of the two or more seismic sources. The iterative updating of the residuals utilizes a sequence of overlapping temporal windows containing reflection events and utilizes normal moveout corrections based on largest reflection events in each temporal window. A final updated residual is added to a final updated model result.

  • Patent number: 11422278
Abstract: Computational systems and methods for randomizing the order in which multiple sources are fired in simultaneous source acquisition are described. In one aspect, pseudo-randomly shifted time delays are generated for each shot interval of a marine-survey-time line. Each shifted time delay is assigned to one or the sources. The sources within each shot interval are fired based on the shifted time delays.

  • Patent number: 10338250
Abstract: Noise is removed from a data set by performing an integral transform operation that converts instances of noise into identifiable artifacts in the transformed data set. A model of the artifacts is constructed by creating a full-domain or partial-domain noise model and performing the same integral transform operation on the noise model. The resulting transformation of the noise model is adaptively subtracted from the transformed data set to remove the noise. The adaptive subtraction may employ a least-square error filter.

  • Patent number: 10261207
Abstract: A seismic noise mitigation method. The method comprises identifying a wavenumber of a component in a residual wavenumber spectrum having a largest norm based on a preconditioned residual wavenumber spectrum. A contribution to the residual wavenumber spectrum from the identified wavenumber component, is subtracted therefrom. A next residual wavenumber spectrum is based thereon and a relative residual computed based on that. The identifying, subtracting and calculating are repeated until a first to occur termination condition selected from the group consisting of: a current relative residual is less than a threshold residual; a difference between the current relative residual and a smallest relative residual exceeds product of the smallest relative residual and a preselected threshold factor; and a difference between a current number of iterations and a number of iterations corresponding to a currently encountered smallest relative residual encountered exceeds a preselected threshold number of iterations.

  • Patent number: 9846247
Abstract: Computational systems and methods for interpolating a pressure wavefield based on pressure wavefield and particle motion wavefield data are disclosed. The pressure and particle motion wavefields are sampled at a sample rate that is less than a lower bound for sample rates typically used to interpolate the pressure wavefield from the pressure wavefield samples alone. The particle motion wavefield can an acceleration wavefield or a time derivative of a velocity wavefield.

  • Publication number: 20130329520
Abstract: Techniques are described for predicting surface-related multiples from measurements performed at varying depths. One or more operations, such as wavefield decompositions and/or extrapolations, may be performed on scattered wavefield data obtained by underwater sensors at different underwater depths to determine one or more surface-related multiple wavefield contributions at a selected depth or at the different underwater depths where the scattered wavefield data is collected from measurements.
