  • Publication number: 20140110440
Abstract: According to certain embodiments of the invention, a valve guide or raised boss may be connected to or integral with a base or body of an aerosol actuator. In various embodiments, a valve guide may include a raised boss associated with a grip or body of an aerosol actuator. The valve guide or raised boss may align a manifold with a valve when an aerosol actuator is assembled to a container containing a product. In addition, a valve guide or raised boss may limit the movement of a portion of a manifold in a defined direction or defined plane such that the load on a valve by a manifold is controlled. For example, a valve guide may ensure a top load on a valve during actuation or may minimize side loads on a valve during actuation.

  • Patent number: 7686237
Abstract: A manually operated sprayer for a container of liquid to be sprayed includes variable volume pump means having liquid inlet and outlet means for discharging the contents of the container. The sprayer further includes a control module having product and vent valves reciprocably disposed therein, the product and vent valves being simultaneously reciprocable by means of the manual actuator between valve open and valve closed positions. In the valve open position, the product and vent valves respectively prevent flow of product and air respectively into the liquid inlet means and into a vent passage in communication between atmosphere and an interior of the container, and in the vent closed position, the product and vent valves respectively enable flow of product and air respectively into the liquid inlet means and into the vent passage.

  • Publication number: 20080149587
Abstract: A container closure system including a container cap and a container closure may be frictionally mated such that projections in the container closure removably lock interior projections of an opening in the container cap in spaces defined in the container closure projections to hold the container cap on the container closure.

  • Patent number: 7032777
Abstract: A trigger actuated liquid sprayer, including a pump body, a discharge nozzle mounted on a forward end of the body for manual rotation about a central axis thereof between discharge open and closed positions, and a trigger lever movably mounted to the body for operating a pumping mechanism upon actuation thereof. A trigger cover may be mounted on the sprayer and overlie a front face of the trigger lever in a first position for immobilizing trigger lever actuation. The trigger cover may be rotatable to a second position from the first position for exposing the front face for facilitating a grasp of the trigger lever for manual actuation thereof for operating the pumping mechanism. The trigger cover may be latched with the trigger lever in the first position to prevent rotation of the trigger cover from the first position to thereby render the sprayer child-resistant.

  • Patent number: 6478193
Abstract: A fluid dispenser having a child-resistant nozzle assembly requiring a three-step manipulation for the rotation of the nozzle cap about a longitudinal axis thereof between discharge ON and discharge OFF positions. The nozzle cap has at least one stop shoulder with which a manually depressable spring tab on the dispenser body engages to lock the cap in an OFF position against cap rotation. A nozzle cover surrounds the cap and is freely rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the cap and along that axis, the cap and the cover having engaging portions such that when engaged with the spring tab depressed, the cap can be rotated from its OFF position.

  • Patent number: 6264073
Abstract: A flexible dip tube for a liquid dispenser, the tube comprising an elongated integrally formed element having elongated end sections and an elongated intermediate section with a pair of spaced bellows defining flexible/weight portions respectively between one end section and the intermediate section and between the other end section and the intermediate section, one of the bellows functioning as a weight filled with liquid causing the tube to flex at the other end of the bellows.

  • Patent number: 6227411
Abstract: A dispenser body supports a nozzle cap for rotation about a longitudinal axis thereof between ON and OFF positions. A nozzle cover surrounds the nozzle cap, is freely rotatable about the nozzle cap and is movable along the longitudinal axis relative to the nozzle cap, to render the same child resistant. Engaging portion on the nozzle cap and the nozzle cover are longitudinally spaced apart in a first longitudinal position to prevent rotation of the nozzle cap by rotating the nozzle cover, thereby preventing the nozzle cap from being rotated from one position to another. In a second longitudinal position of the nozzle cover relative to the nozzle cap, the engaging portions interengage to enable the nozzle cap to be rotated by the nozzle cover to enable the nozzle cap to be rotated from one position to another.

  • Patent number: 6186366
Abstract: The nozzle cap of the dispenser is rotatably supported at the nozzle end of the dispenser body for rotation between ON and OFF positions. At least one locking member is integrally connected to the body to form a flexible connector which permits rocking movement of the locking member. The locking member extends laterally from one side of the body so as to be in full view when the dispenser is held in the hand of a user. The locking member fits within a recess formed in the nozzle cap to lock the nozzle cap against rotation when the nozzle cap is in OFF position. Inward pressure on the locking member releases it from the recess to permit rotation of the nozzle cap to ON position. The nozzle cap includes a discharge passage in communication with a discharge opening and may also include one or more additional passages which provide communication between a portion of the nozzle cap near the discharge opening and ambient air to prevent a child from sucking contents of the container through the discharge opening.

  • Patent number: 5123931
Abstract: A method for the beneficiation of coal by selective agglomeration and the beneficiated coal product thereof is disclosed wherein coal, comprising impurities, is comminuted to a particle size sufficient to allow impurities contained therein to disperse in water, an aqueous slurry is formed with the comminuted coal particles, treated with a compound, such as a polysaccharide and/or disaccharide, to increase the relative hydrophilicity of hydrophilic components, and thereafter the slurry is treated with sufficient liquid agglomerant to form a coagulum comprising reduced impurity coal.
