  • Publication number: 20120310741
Abstract: Methods, computing devices and systems may be provided for verifying and effectiveness of electronic coupons or electronic advertisements. A computing device, which may have navigation functions, may be located within a vehicle. The computing device may receive an electronic coupon or an electronic advertisement, which may be presented to a user via a display and may be sent to a nearby mobile device via a narrowband transmission. The computing device may determine whether a current location is proximate to a business associated with the presented electronic coupon or the electronic advertisement. The computing device may indicate to other computing devices within a system whether one or more separate or combined conditions are met with respect to the presented electronic coupon or the electronic advertisement. If the one or more conditions have been met, then a communication may be transmitted to a remote computing device executing an advertisement application.

  • Publication number: 20120283899
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing road service to an operator of a vehicle are provided. Such systems and methods presuppose a navigation system of the vehicle is set to route the vehicle to a destination. A road service request from the vehicle is received and a waypoint along the route to the destination is calculated. The navigation system is remotely set to route the vehicle to the waypoint and road service at the waypoint is ordered. The road service includes swapping the vehicle with a new vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20120109519
Abstract: A battery electric vehicle (BEV) routing apparatus and methods are presented for routing to a charging station, in which a vehicle navigation system obtains current utilization and compatibility information from a live database and uses this to selectively route the vehicle to a charging station having available chargers compatible with the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20120109515
Abstract: A battery electric vehicle (BEV) navigation routing system and routing methods are presented, in which a traveling route is determined from the current vehicle location to the destination location by preferentially selecting low speed routes over higher speed routes if the present state of charge of the vehicle battery is insufficient to reach the destination location using shortest time or shortest distance routes.

  • Patent number: 5407130
Abstract: A vehicle heating system for use with an engine having a liquid cooling circuit in which a heat storage battery stores latent heat during the operation of the engine, and the latent heat is later used to supply heat to the engine and the passenger compartment heating system during a subsequent use of the vehicle. A bypass circuit is provided within the heating system for bypassing the heat storage battery, whereby recharging of the heat storage battery is prevented until after the engine of the vehicle has reached a desired operating temperature.
