  • Patent number: 4891681
Abstract: Electrostatographic apparatus for providing bound sheet sets suitable for folding. The sides of the sheet sets are staggered so that, upon folding, the edges become accurately aligned. Staggering is accomplished by progressively cutting the sheets shorter as they are to be positioned in the stack, and aligning the stacked sheets in a trapezoidal shape before stapling the sheets together. Aligning is accomplished by an inclined surface which makes an acute angle of approximately 32.degree. with the flat surface of the sheets. Movement of the images on the sheet is also provided to keep the outside borders on the various sheets equal.

  • Patent number: 4857955
Abstract: An electronic printer apparatus is coupled to an electronic data source that generates electronic data signals that have no information associated with it as to the colors the respective data are to be printed in. The printer includes a computer that is programmed by the operator to compare incoming data signals and identify those characters that are to be printed in a color other than that which it prints the remaining portion of the information to provide hard copy reproductions with color accenting of selected data. In another embodiment all the data is printed in one color but the selected data is highlighted by color around the data. In still another embodiment, data signals for printing a multiple page document are compared. The fixed data on each page is printed in one color and the variable data on each page is color accented.

  • Patent number: 4828950
Abstract: Method of making electrostatographic multi-color reproductions on plain bond paper receiver sheets in such a manner that the sheets have the high quality look of coated paper while not being subject to the coated paper problems of blistering and differences in gloss level build up. According to the method of this invention, electrostatographically formed color images of information to be reproduced are respectively developed with corresponding colored marking particles, and a negative image of the information to be reproduced is developed with white marking particles. The marking particle developed images are sequentially transferred to a plain bond paper receiver sheet in superimposed register. The transferred images are then fixed to the receiver sheet by application of heat and/or pressure. The white marking particles cover the area of the receiver sheet not covered by the colored marking particles.

  • Patent number: 4609282
Abstract: Apparatus producing information copies on interleaved transparency material and plain paper separator sheets, where such separation of the transparency material by the plain paper sheets facilitates handling of the transparency material. The productivity of the apparatus reproduction cycles is enhanced by selectively producing information copies on transparency material or on transparency material and on the separator sheets. After the information copies are produced, the transparency material and separator sheets are selectively stacked in separate receiving hoppers or in interleaved fashion in one receiving hopper.

  • Patent number: 4583841
Abstract: A developer station for use in an electrographic copier utilizing moving discrete dielectric sheets, such sheets being adapted to respectively carry latent image charge patterns and travel along a path in pattern-developing relation to such station. The developer station includes a housing forming a reservoir for developer material. The housing has an opening in juxtaposition with the travel path. Developer material is transported from the reservoir through such opening and into such travel path. A movable shielding belt blocks the opening to prevent developer material from reaching the travel path. In response to approach of a discrete dielectric sheet moving along the travel path toward the station, the belt is moved to a position where a window through the belt overlies the opening thereby unblocking such opening to enable transported developer material to contact a discrete dielectric sheet when such sheet is in pattern-developing relation to the developer station.
