  • Publication number: 20240330615
Abstract: A method of utilizing beamforming to selectively locate one or more ambient electromagnetic power harvesting (AEPH) chips, implemented by a reader apparatus comprising multiple antennas, the method comprises transmitting, to the AEPH chips, an interrogation signal from multiple transmit antennas by a reader application executing on a processor of the reader apparatus in a first frequency band to activate the AEPH chips; receiving, from at least one AEPH chip by multiple receive antennas of the reader apparatus, one or more signals in response to the interrogation signal; processing the one or more signals to determine a direction of the at least one AEPH chip; and adjusting, using a beamformer, a beam direction of the multiple transmit antennas of the reader apparatus in the direction of the at least one AEPH chip to deliver the maximum power to the at least one AEPH chip.

  • Publication number: 20240273314
Abstract: A method for implementing a software-based (SB) radio frequency identification (RFID) tag is disclosed. The method comprises storing first RFID identity data in a memory of the SB RFID tag, storing second RFID identity data in the memory of the SB RFID tag; and receiving via an antenna coupled to the SB RFID tag an RFID interrogation signal from an RFID reader and, in response determining by a processor of the SB RFID tag a status of an RFID identity selection criterion, selecting one of the first RFID identity data and the second RFID identity data, based on the status of the RFID identity selection criterion; and sending the selected one of the first RFID identity data and the second RFID identity data to the RFID reader via an antenna coupled to the SB RFID tag.

  • Publication number: 20140108184
Abstract: A transaction-based social network for a life science vertical industry is provided. A method for implementing the network includes creating an opportunity from input received by a user. The input specifies criteria with respect to the opportunity, a target user community, and a target subject. The method also includes identifying members of a target user community in the network based on the criteria, receiving from the user, criteria associated with an automated award feature, and posting the opportunity over the network to the members of the target user community. The method also includes receiving a response from at least one target member of the target user community, applying the criteria associated with the automated award feature to the at least one target member; automatically awarding, without input by the user, the opportunity to the target member upon determining the information satisfies the criteria associated with the automated award feature.

  • Patent number: 6511067
Abstract: A row-forming marble board game for entertainment and for being the first player to line up one's marbles in a particular row. The row-forming marble board game includes a board member having a top side and a grid being disposed upon the top side and dividing the top side into a plurality of distinct marble placement sections with each of the marble placement sections being uniquely numbered; and also includes sets of marbles for placement upon the marble placement sections; and further includes a deck of playing cards with each playing card having a number corresponding to a particular marble placement section being displayed upon a side thereof.

  • Patent number: 4716980
Abstract: An electric rider vehicle control system is disclosed which includes a dead man brake that is normally set to prevent coasting, and controls which release the brake and permit normal transport operation of the vehicle at multiple speeds by an operator on the operator's platform. The controls also include a selector switch for selecting between such normal operation and another mode in which the brake is held in a release position by an electrical solenoid, the first controls are disabled or bypassed, and the propulsive drive is operated by jogging control switches mounted on the sides of the vehicle for convenient manipulation by an operator walking alongside. An adjustable hydraulic snubber also is provided to control brake application.

  • Patent number: 4226330
Abstract: Method and apparatus for producing rupturable areas in thermoplastic film wherein said film is used to make closed flexible containers or packages that are easily ruptured for the release of contents contained therein. The apparatus is comprised of a male mold portion and a female mold portion having the film interposed therebetween. Application of heat and pressure to the film by the male and female mold portions cause the plastic film to extrude outwardly from the impression area thereby forming a weakened line or area in the film by selectively reducing the thickness thereof. The film is then formed into flexible packages having the rupture area in a selected position.
