  • Patent number: 4970275
Abstract: Elastomeric block co-polyesters having improved elastic and work recovery properties, a high melting point and are stable at high temperatures, have hard segments comprising at least 50 mole percent of polyethylene terephthalate groups and soft segments comprising at least 40 weight percent of the block copolyester. The soft segments, which have a defined structure, are formed by reacting phenolic compounds with a mixture of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide/butylene oxide.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 31, 1989
Date of Patent: November 13, 1990
    Assignee: Imperial Chemical Industries PLC
Inventors: Richard H. Still, Stanley R. K. Dawber, Raymond Peters, Tahir H. Shah, Nigel W. Hayman, John R. Wright, Roger I. Hancock, Kenneth M. Jones

  • Patent number: 4615820
Abstract: Liquid detergent compositions comprise 25-60% by weight of solids suspended in a liquid phase comprising at least 20% by weight of a condensation product of ethylene oxide with a mono- or di- or tri- hydroxy alkane having 1 to 4 carbon atoms having an average molecular weight in the range 150 to 600. The solids comprise a builder and optionally a bleach, and the liquid phase preferably comprises a surfactant.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 7, 1985
Date of Patent: October 7, 1986
    Assignee: Imperial Chemical Industries PLC
Inventors: Paul Hepworth, Roger I. Hancock
  • Patent number: 4337331
Abstract: A conductive polymer comprising a fiber-forming synthetic polymer having dispersed therein as a separate phase between 1% and 20% by weight inclusive based on the polymer of a polyalkoxylated phenol-formaldehyde condensate. Conductive fibers may be produced by melt spinning the conductive polymer.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 21, 1981
Date of Patent: June 29, 1982
    Assignee: Imperial Chemical Industries Limited
    Inventor: Roger I. Hancock
  • Patent number: 4316812
Abstract: A liquid detergent composition which comprises a dispersion of solids comprising one or more builders and a bleach, the solids having an average particle diameter of less than 10 microns in a substantially water free non-ionic liquid surfactant which has a pour point of less than 10.degree. C. is stable in the absence of dispersing agents for the solids.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 4, 1979
Date of Patent: February 23, 1982
    Assignee: Imperial Chemical Industries Limited
Inventors: Roger I. Hancock, Kathleen M. Morrison
  • Patent number: 4199027
Abstract: A thickener and surfactant for a driving fluid used in enhanced oil recovery comprises a salt of a sulphated polyoxyethylene alcohol in which at least 40 wt % of the alcohol portion of the sulphated polyoxyethylene alcohol is a C.sub.8 to C.sub.20 primary alcohol having a C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkyl substituent in the 2-position of an otherwise linear chain. The balance of the alcohol portion may be made up of a linear primary alcohol of same carbon number as the 2-alkyl branched alcohol.
