    Abstract: A water-base endothermic fire protective material comprising a heat curable thermosetting resin, inorganic fibers, an endothermic inorganic filler, and thermoplastic binder resin is disclosed. The material can vary in viscosity from a putty that is moldable or trowelable into place to a thin paste that can be sprayed to form a flexible and stable fire stop seal or coating. The material with essentially no shrinkage retains strength and adhesion qualities before and after exposure to fire and retains superior resistance to the impact, erosion, and cooling effects of a hose stream used to combat a fire.

    Abstract: This invention relates to a non-intumescent, non-char forming, endothermic, essentially inorganic, flexible, fire-protective sheet material. The flexible sheet is made of a composition comprising:(a) an inorganic fiber, such as fiberglass and alumino-silicate refractory fibers;(b) an organic polymer binder, such as an acrylic resin; and(c) an inorganic endothermic filler, such as alumina trihydrate.The weight ratio of organic to inorganic constituents is less than about 0.10, and the weight ratio of inorganic endothermic filler of part (c) to inorganic fiber of part (a) is in the range of about 0.5 to 50. This sheet is a useful fire barrier wrap for conduits and cable trays in building construction, which provides excellent fire protection, and the current capacity derating of cables is significantly less with this new fibrous sheet than it is in the case of known fire barrier sheet materials.

    Abstract: At least two similar sheets of intumescent sheet material one of which is coated with adhesive on one face are adhered with an offset and with liner paper covering the exposed adhesive covered layer of the offset. Dimensions are made so that the laminate can be conformably wrapped around a ceramic monolith, the liner removed and the ends of the two laminate adhered. This provides ease of insertion of ceramic monoliths in coverings and after heating expansion of the intumescent material secures the monolith in the covering.
