Publication number: 20140253471Abstract: A touch pad sensor is configured for use by an operator to detect gestures of the operator and for providing a gesture signal indicative of a detected gesture. The detected gesture corresponds to a mode of operation of an electronic safety device. A controller detects the gesture signals indicative of the detected gesture, and converts the gesture signals into control signals to control the operation of the electronic safety device such as lighting or audio devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 11, 2013Publication date: September 11, 2014Applicant: CODE 3, INC.Inventors: Joseph Bakalor, Roger L. Patent number: 8786423Abstract: A system comprising a power supply, an emergency warning light and a speaker, in combination with a control head. One or more processors controls operation of the system in response to received user input and provides system status for display. Storage media encoded with emergency warning light system instructions for execution by one or more of the processors controls the actuation of the emergency warning light system and controls light patterns generated by the emergency warning light system. The storage media is further encoded with siren system instructions for execution by one or more of the processors for controlling the actuation of the siren system and for controlling audible sounds generated by the siren system.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2012Date of Patent: July 22, 2014Assignee: Code 3, Inc.Inventors: Daniel S. Patent number: 8540406Abstract: A solar light bar includes a battery isolator adapted to be connected between a bus and a vehicle charging system for isolating a vehicle battery from the bus and for selectively connecting the bus to the charging system. A light source switch connects the light source and the bus for selectively electrically connecting the light source to the bus. When the light source switch is closed, the light source is energized by electricity from at least one of the solar panel, the charging system and the auxiliary battery. When the light source switch is open, the light source is isolated from the bus. The auxiliary battery is adapted to be selectively charged by electricity from at least one of the solar panel and the charging system.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2011Date of Patent: September 24, 2013Assignee: Code 3, Inc.Inventors: Kyle C. Stuesse, John C. Davis, Michael Lloyd, Steve J. Herberholt, Roger L. Miller
-
Patent number: 8525660Abstract: A light bar and/or a siren controlled by a control head via control signals on power lines connected to the control head, the light bar and/or the siren. Isolated power line communication (PLC) modules between the light bar, the siren and the control head transmit the control signals over the power lines.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2011Date of Patent: September 3, 2013Assignee: CODE 3, Inc.Inventors: Daniel S. Miller, Roger L. Miller

Patent number: 8342725Abstract: A light bar may include a light head with chip-on-board (COB) light emitting diode (LED) and an optic component mounted adjacent to the COB LED. The light bar may comprise short and long center modules. The light bar may include a plurality of housing modules where each housing module includes a light head and a lens cover having a top portion that is substantially impervious to ultraviolet radiation, and a lens portion extending downward from the top portion in generally opposing relationship with the light head. The light bar may include a circuit board including a wire-to-board connector, and a light head including a wire-to-board connector mated with the wire-to-board connector on the circuit board to electrically connect the light head to the circuit board. The light head may include a holographic diffuser.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2009Date of Patent: January 1, 2013Assignee: Code 3, Inc.Inventors: Paul L. Stein, Timothy B. Murray, Roger L. Miller
