  • Patent number: 5211469
Abstract: An aquarium lighting system for underwater illumination of an aquarium tank. The light sources each include an elongated insulated wire having a light emitting diode on one end. A water impervious encapsulating layer of material extends over the LED lens and preferably seals and electrically insulates the connection between the elongated wire and the light emitting diode. The wire insulation is both waterproof and watertight. The plug has an opening extending therethrough which cooperates with an attachment mechanism such as a tie wrap or a suction cup to facilitate attaching the light emitting diode to either an object within the tank or the tank walls. A decorative aquarium volcano and display stand also are shown.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 9, 1991
Date of Patent: May 18, 1993
    Assignee: Universal Fiber Optics, Inc.
Inventors: John D. Matthias, Roger W. Peterson, Stuart A. Schwalbe

  • Patent number: 4351579
Abstract: A clamp for electrical cable, especially flat cable, wherein opposed jaws allow passage of the cable therethrough with fasteners providing inward biasing of the jaws toward mutual contact. Two recessed groove sections in each jaw provide a seat for the cable, including a more deeply recessed toothed section which grips the cable sheath, if any, and a less deeply recessed section which seats unsheathed cable. The jaws may be supported, vertically or horizontally, by stand-offs relative to a support structure. A conductive path is provided from the jaws, through the standoffs, to a support structure (electrical ground), for the purpose of grounding a wire mesh cable ground, frequently surrounding flat cable. The clamp is used proximate a cable connector so that the clamp and connector provide a complete mechanical and electrical cable termination system.

  • Patent number: 4042878
Abstract: A cable testing apparatus for multi-conductor cables including a test fixture for mechanically securing the cable to be tested. A plurality of tracks within the test fixture accommodates connectors of selected width. A control box which has a test lamp for each conductor energizes both the lamps and the conductors through a jumper cable for providing a continuity check through the tested conductors.
