    Abstract: Means and methodology for a telecommunication network are pro-vided that allow using an IMEI of mobile terminal as destination or identification instead of the regular IMSI or MSISDN. This capability of the telecommunication network is provided by maintaining a set of coupled pairs of IMEI and IMSI/MSISDN. Operational messages in the telecommunication network having an IMEI address as destination or identification are translated by the appropriate IMSI or MSISDN depending on the message type, from a coupled pair having the same IMEI. Means is provided with a STP capable of maintaining the set of coupled pairs. Further several implementations are provided using the IMEI addressing capability.

    Abstract: The invention discloses a method for obtaining a location of mobile station connected in a mobile network where a request for the location contains a condition specifying if a location stored in the mobile network can be used. The condition comprises an expression regarding an accuracy threshold for the location. The method can be applied in a Home Location Register in the network, in a Visiting Mobile Service Center or in both. The HLR contains location information for registered mobiles and the VMSC for connected mobiles.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method of routing a call made to a fixed telephone number of a UMA-subscriber in a mobile telecommunications network comprising a first and a second switching node and a location server. Location information of said UMA-subscriber is acquired wherein said location information comprises a location area code or a combination of location area code and cell identifier associated with a serving BSC or a serving GANC. The call is connected to the UMA-subscriber when the location area code or combination of location area code and cell identifier is associated with one of a group of GANCs, or connected to an alternative destination, such as a voicemail service, if the location area code or combination of location area code and cell identifier is not associated with said one of a group of GANCs. The methods described in the present invention disclosure allow for very efficient offering of UMA in combination with geographic numbers.

    Abstract: Rerouting, as specified by ITU-T Q.730 is a network service that is executed by and under control of switching nodes, whereas IN services are executed under the control of a service control entity and invoked for certain calls only. Because of the two levels of control that are also separate from each other, inconsistencies may occur when an IN service is invoked for a call that may be in addition subject to rerouting. This problem is solved-in that a service control entity is adapted to perform the steps of receiving information relating to the rerouting of the call from the service switching entity, selecting a rerouting procedure for the call according to the received information, and sending an instruction to the service switching entity to continue the call according to the rerouting procedure. The information relating to the rerouting of the call information is in particular information about a rerouting capability of a preceding switching node.
