  • Publication number: 20100215168
Abstract: Methods and devices for controlling a call in a telecommunications network are described. The telecommunications network comprises a service control entity (SCP204), a service switching entity (SSSF203) and a switching node (MSC205). The call is subject to a first service invoked for a first call party (CP201) and provided by the service control entity (SCP204), and to a second service invoked for a second call party (CP207) and provided by the switching node (MSC205). The service control entity (SCP204) performs the steps of receiving (239) a message comprising an indication of an invocation of the second service from the service switching entity (SSF203), selecting a procedure for handling the invocation of the second service based on a knowledge about the second service and a knowledge about the first service, and sending (240) an instruction to the service switching entity (SSF203) according to the procedure for handling the invocation of the second service.

  • Patent number: 7778646
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of providing a location specific service in a digital cellular communication network using unstructured supplementary service data. In the method, the service data is sent to a network node of said network by at least one mobile station, and the service is dependent of location information of said at least one mobile station. Said method comprises a step of including location information in said service data by said network node. The invention is further related to a network node for use with a method as described here.

  • Publication number: 20100203898
Abstract: A method of managing location information of an Unlicensed Mobile Access terminal in a Global System for Mobile Communications network. An IP address of the terminal is received at a Generic Access Network Controller. The Generic Access Network Controller then sends a query to a Connectivity Session Location and Repository Function associated with the IP network or IP sub network through which the UMA terminal has gained IP connectivity for the purpose of attaching to a Mobile Switching Centre or Serving General Packet Radio System Service Node. The Connectivity Session Location and Repository Function sends location information to the Generic Access Network Controller, which then transmits the location information to a Mobile Switching Centre or a Serving General Packet Radio System Service Node.

  • Publication number: 20100184418
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling an explicit call transfer during a call in a telecommunications network comprising a switching node and an intelligent network, the intelligent network comprising a service control entity and a service switching entity. The service switching entity detects that explicit call transfer is invoked, and then sends a report to the service control entity indicating that explicit call transfer took place for the call. The report may comprise the call transfer number and a call transfer phase indicator indicating whether the call is active or in alerting state. The service control entity receives the report and will control the call transfer depending on the report.

  • Publication number: 20100167725
Abstract: A method of and a system for establishing presence of a mobile station in at least one dedicated service area of a mobile telecommunications system providing service to a plurality of geographically spread service areas. A mobile station is triggered to provide location information relating to the presence of the mobile station at a location receiving service from a service area comprising the or each dedicated service area. Presence of the mobile station in the or each dedicated service area is established by comparing the location information provided by the mobile station and stored location information relating to the or each dedicated service area. If present in a dedicated service area, the mobile station automatically receives dedicated services to which the mobile unit is entitled to. Receipt of dedicated services is automatically indicated to a user of the mobile station.

  • Publication number: 20100144351
Abstract: A technique for performing a service domain selection in a communications network having a default service domain and at least one alternative service domain is described. According to this technique, a switching to the alternative service domain involves the invocation of a supplementary service that is provided as a supplement to a basic service. A method implementation of this technique comprises steps of identifying a basic service type associated with a service request; determining if for at least one of an originating side and a terminating side of the service request the identified basic service type is linked with a subscription to the supplementary service of service domain switching; and invocating the supplementary service of service domain switching if a linking can be determined.

  • Publication number: 20100106846
Abstract: The present invention relates to an overlay system between a GSM and IMS network, making use of virtual IMS subscriptions, which are temporary coupled with the identity of a non SIP compliant terminal, when the non SIP compliant terminal makes a call, is called or invokes an IMS service during the call, for the purpose of initiating a SIP session providing an IMS service to the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20090129293
Abstract: A method of recording at least a part of a conversation between a plurality of conversation parties, wherein said conversation is enabled by establishing a call through a circuit switched telecommunications network. Said at least one part of said conversation is recorded in a data file using a recording system which is located in the network at a central location, and said recording is controlled by control signals provided to said recording system through a packet switched telecommunications network by at least one of said conversation parties. Said control signals identify said call for associating said control signals with said conversation. By providing the control through the packet network no DTMF tones need to interrupt the ongoing conversation to start and stop recording using access codes which also means that no monitoring circuit need continually be inserted in the voice path. Thus control of the recording is provided using an IP based interface rather than via the circuit switched path.

  • Publication number: 20080198990
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of handling a telephone call initiated from a calling terminal in a circuit switched telecommunications network by providing called party identification data of a called party to said network. In the method proposed said call i s set up by obtaining answering party identification data from a service control point associated with said called party based on said provided called party identification data. Communication is provided through said network between said calling terminal and an answering terminal identified using said answering party identification data. Said answering party identification data is made available to at least one service control point in said network for identifying services associated with said answering terminal. The invention further relates to a switching device for use with said method.

  • Publication number: 20060104429
Abstract: Call completion menus are established by the telecommunications provider (of the called party) who may assign a number of options for the menu of a certain subscriber (called party) based on the subscription of the called party. The available options depend on the state of the user equipment of the called party such as: called party is busy, called party is not reachable or called party does not answer. The available options also are dependent on the profile of the user equipment, the user (called party), the calling party and the network conditions/attributes.
