  • Patent number: 11691303
Abstract: A hair cutting appliance includes a stationary blade having a first wall portion arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation; and a second wall portion offset from the first wall portion such that the first and second wall portions a guide slot that receives a movable cutter blade. A toothed leading edge is jointly formed by the first and second wall portions. Teeth at the toothed leading edge include a first leg defined by the first wall portion, and a second leg defined by the second wall portion. The first and second wall portions are connected at a frontal end of the toothed leading edge, thereby forming tips of the teeth. The second legs of the teeth are tapered along a portion of their longitudinal extension towards a bottom side of the stationary blade facing away from the skin, when in operation.

  • Patent number: 10751892
Abstract: A grooming appliance (100) comprising: a grooming mechanism (102) for grooming a user; a motor (104) arranged to operate the grooming mechanism; and a controller (106) configured to modulate a data signal into sound produced by the grooming appliance during the operation of the grooming mechanism by the motor, in order to transmit information relating to the grooming appliance. In embodiments, the sound being modulated is caused by the motor when operating the grooming mechanism. In this case the controller is arranged to supply a drive signal to the motor in order to control the motor, and to perform the modulation by varying the drive signal in order to modulate the data signal into the sound caused by the motor during operation of the grooming mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9381656
Abstract: A device for trimming hair includes a fixed cutting element, a mobile cutting element and a fixed guard, each including a plurality of teeth that extends in a similar direction. The mobile cutting element is moveable relative to the fixed cutting element such that hairs are cut when they enter a space between the teeth. The mobile cutting element is positioned between the fixed cutting element and the fixed guard, and when in use, the fixed guard is the component closest to the skin to be shaved in a certain direction. A length of the teeth of the fixed and mobile cutting elements and the fixed guard differ so that, during use, the fixed cutting element and the fixed guard may contact the skin but the mobile cutting element is restricted from fully contacting the skin to prevent damage or irritation of the skin.

  • Publication number: 20120090181
Abstract: A personal care apparatus (101) is presented, comprising a housing (117). This housing has a longitudinal axis (108) and is provided with a first end portion (102) and a second end portion (105). The first end portion (102) has a first end (103) having a first device configured for performing a function related to personal care (104). The second end portion (105) has a second end (106) having a second device configured for performing a function related to personal care (107). Said end portions (102, 105) are located in accordance with the longitudinal axis (108), and said ends (103, 106) are configured for pointing in different directions (114, 115). The first end portion (102) and the second end portion (105) are rotatable over an axis of rotation with respect to each other, which axis of rotation approximately corresponds to the longitudinal axis (108). This personal care apparatus allows the user to easily prevent the not in use device to have unintended interference with the user's skin or hairs.

  • Publication number: 20100011629
Abstract: A device (1) for supplying superheated water, comprising a container (3) for containing water, and a heating element (5) for heating water in the container to a superheated state. During use the water in the container is superheated, by the heating element typically 120 to 140° C. The pressure in the container is suppressing the evaporation of the water If this superheated water is released from the container via a water outlet (7) for letting out superheated water, it evaporates due to decrease of pressure when leaving the container As a result the increased.
