  • Patent number: 11140093
Abstract: Systems and methods for efficient database management of non-transitory readable media, including a memory configured to store information associated with service instance requests across a plurality of distributed network resources and a processor configured to receive a service instance request, determine the first native domain object associated with the service instance request, allocate the plurality of network resources to a plurality of distributed worker instances dependent upon a first native domain object, assign the first service instance request to a first worker instance that includes a microservice instance that define service instance blocks to execute the request, and a service instance block manager configured to manage the first service instance request in conjunction with subsequent service instance requests associated with the plurality of worker instances, track running and completed requests, and allocate resources for similar requests across the distributed network nodes.

  • Patent number: 10552371
Abstract: A target data storage system performing a migration operation also responds to client requests by creating and maintaining a metadata cache for caching attributes of a user file as obtained from a source data storage system. A read-type client request is processed by (1) determining whether the metadata cache stores current attribute values, (2) if so, then satisfying the client request using the current values in the metadata cache, and (3) otherwise obtaining current attribute values from the source data storage system and satisfying the client request using the obtained current attribute values, and storing the current values in the metadata cache to be available for use in processing subsequent read-type client requests. A write-type client request is processed forwarding modified attribute values from the client request to the source data storage system for storage therein.

  • Patent number: 10464108
Abstract: Certain exemplary aspects of the present disclosure are directed towards apparatuses and methods which autonomously decontaminate parts. Parts to be cleaned are identified, and based on the identification of the part, a part specific cleaning program is initiated. During the cleaning, the part is manipulated about a gas supply in such a way that the drag force on the contamination particles attached to the part exceeds the contamination particles' surface adhesion force and accordingly is removed from the surface of the part. The removed contamination is then evacuated from the atmospheric environment near the part by a low pressure zone of a second gaseous material near the part.

  • Patent number: 9355144
Abstract: An approach is provided for recycling information fragments in information spaces. An information management system detects a plurality of information management processes occurring in an information space. The information management processes retrieve one or more information fragments from the information space. The information management system then determines a sequence of states for each of the plurality of information management processes over a period of time and calculates a state trajectory from each of the sequence of states. The calculated state trajectories are used to predict a finite set of possible future states. The information management system uses the prediction to determine which of the one or more information fragments are recyclable and preserves the recyclable information fragments for responding to a subsequent request directed to the information space.

  • Patent number: 8954443
Abstract: The present invention is a method for performing a multi-protocol scan of a NAS system by a storage virtualization system to create a multi-protocol file index. Current NAS systems may utilize two protocols, CIFS and NFS. Storage virtualization systems migrate, redirect or synchronize data between a primary and a secondary NAS. Present storage virtualization systems are designed to work with NFS or CIFS systems, but not both. The present invention enables a storage virtualization system to simultaneously or near-simultaneously operate using NFS and CIFS protocols. The present invention also provides for a multi-protocol scan of a NAS device to ensure that all data files and data file attributes are recognized and preserved during storage virtualization.

  • Patent number: 8667034
Abstract: The present invention enables a storage virtualization system to identify and preserve symlinks stored in a mixed protocol NFS+CIFS NAS system. Using the results of a multi-protocol scan, a storage virtualization system may identify which data objects are symlinks. The storage virtualization system may also determine the symlinks' target path information either by monitoring access or by referring to metadata discovered during the scan. After recording this target path information, the storage virtualization system may provide symlink expansion capabilities separate from the client computer or the NAS system. In addition, this target path information may be preserved upon symlink migration to a second NAS system.

  • Patent number: 8376244
Abstract: A fluid distribution system and method for mobile applications. The system includes a power source, a pump driven by the power source, and a motor driven by the pump. The system also includes a spray head with a fluid inlet passage, a fluid outlet passage, a fluid piston disposed in a chamber for controlled access between the inlet and outlet passages and defining a variable orifice, and a hydraulic cylinder controllably engaged to the orifice. The fluid piston and the hydraulic cylinder are aligned with a common longitudinal axis, and the inlet passage is offset from the axis in a direction opposed to the location of the outlet passage.

  • Patent number: 8313579
Abstract: An apparatus and associated method are provided for treating a workpiece with a cryogenic impingement fluid. A fixture supports the workpiece in an upright position and operably connects an electrical component of the workpiece to a power source in the supported position. A cryogenic impingement fluid applicator sprays a stream of the cryogenic impingement fluid against the supported workpiece and laterally moves the stream in accordance with a predetermined path. A shield deflects the stream of cryogenic impingement fluid to prevent the stream from contacting at least a part of the workpiece as the stream is moved along the predetermined path.
