  • Patent number: 5904596
Abstract: The present invention comprises a terminator which features an internal termination resistor and capacitor mounted on a substrate which is in electrical and mechanical communication with a center terminal pin at one end, and the connector body at the other end. The body of the terminator is grounded via the connection of the terminator to a cooperating connector. The present invention includes a support insulator which protects the internal components of the terminator by preventing transmission of tensile, torsional, and bending stresses through the terminal into the termination chip assembly. The stresses are absorbed by means of a supportive insulator which frictionally supports a textured section of the center terminal within the terminator. The stresses typically occur during installation or removal of the terminator to or from a connector. With the present invention it is possible to twist and bend the metal terminal of the terminator to the point of fracture without damaging the termination chip.

  • Patent number: 5800211
Abstract: A low-cost snap together coaxial cable connector for indoor use. The connector includes a central post made of an electrically conductive material, with the remaining parts made from a low cost non-conductive material such as plastic. Since the conductor is intended for internal use only, there are no o-rings required. The connector meets or exceeds Society of Cable and Television Engineers (SCTE) standards. The connector can be assembled by a relatively unskilled worker and is compatible with existing assembly tools.

  • Patent number: 5322461
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a connector body and an array of posts extending out at least one side of the connector body. Each of the posts defines a tip and two opposed pairs of post faces that intersect at edges extending along the post. The tip defines four tip faces which converge toward a tip nose, and each tip face is aligned with a respective one of the post faces. Each of the tip faces is convex outwardly, and the edges between the post faces adjacent the tip are curved with a radius of curvature greater than about 0.005 inches. The electrical connector is assembled by press fitting the posts through pre-formed through holes, and the tip geometry reduces skiving of material out of the through hole as well as assembly forces.
