  • Patent number: 5645525
Abstract: A heel stabilizing device is comprised of an elastic sleeve adapted to fit over the foot and heel of a person. The sleeve includes a pair of pads disposed on opposite sides of the inside surface of the sleeve. When the sleeve is worn around the heel, the two pads are positioned on opposite sides of the calcaneus. The pads exert opposite and equal forces to the medial and lateral side of the calcaneus to stabilize the heel within a shoe and also to impede the displacement of the fat pad located beneath the calcaneus.
