  • Patent number: 4773008
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling the environment of a tank adapted to be filled with water where the tank includes a plurality of control apparatus. The invention specifically utilizes a microprocessor having a plurality of control signal inputs and a plurality of control signal outputs. Apparatus is provided for coupling each of the control signal outputs to each of the plurality of control apparatus. A program device is coupled to the microprocessor signal input such that data can be entered for the control of each of the plurality of control signal outputs and a timing apparatus is likewise coupled to one of the plurality of signal inputs in a manner to allow the microprocessor to calculate the time of day such that data entered by the program device will selectively control the function of each of the control apparatus as necessary to maintain the environment within the limits set by the operator.

  • Patent number: 4163387
Abstract: A cabin display unit accepts information from a plurality of sources such as the petot static tube, a static air pressure source, a temperature source, cabin pressure source and the like and converts the data to corresponding electrical valves. The valves are multiplexed and converted to a digital value and applied to a micro-processor which calculates, from the data, the aircraft's true air speed, outside temperature, altitude, etc., and displays the calculated information on a cabin display unit.

  • Patent number: 4153119
Abstract: A device for facilitating directional drilling of small diameter holes radially of a mine long hole comprising a segmented sleeve for movement through a guide channel in a main drill unit. A small bit is driven by a flexible shaft which passes through the segmented sleeve. The segmented sleeve remains partially in the guide channel and extends partially out of the guide channel in a straight line from the guide channel. The segments are joined in a manner permitting a 90.degree. turn in the guide channel but allowing no curvature in the portion of the segmented sleeve extending from the guide channel.

  • Patent number: 4086580
Abstract: In one exemplar embodiment, a digital altitude encoder is provided that utilizes a conventional altimeter responsive to atmospheric pressure for rotationally driving an indicator shaft. Attached to the shaft is a disc having repetitive, alternate, regularly disposed solid portions and slots. A light source and a pair of light detectors for receiving light from the source are spaced adjacent the disc to permit one of the detectors to generate a first signal and the other detector to generate a second signal having a relative time of occurrence dependent on the direction of the rotation of the disc. A counting means that is presettable to a predetermined digital count representative of a preselected altitude function receives the first and second signals and increments or decrements the predetermined count in response to changes in altitude.

  • Patent number: 3978930
Abstract: An apparatus of the type used in forming boreholes in earth formations, as particularly utilized in and about mining operations, which includes the addition of thrust force accumulator structure which enables a continuous drilling progression during the cyclical actuation of alternating borehole anchor mechanism. The device utilizes a conventional form of drill motor and drill bit coupled with a particular form of piston/cylinder anchor mechanism which functions in coaction with a force accumulator compression spring.
